[edit] Expanding the article

I managed to put together the basic article together. Anyone know anything about the background, who is dr lagan, why did it end, interesting facts etc! Múinteoir 14:56 02 August 2007

Doin't know much abou tit to be honest. But I see here that the Official Donegal website claim Donegal have won it six times, but maybe that's it was technically a differenet competition then. Where did you get the info at? Derry Boi 15:09, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

I got the information from [1], seems a very reliable source, Donegal claim they won in 1936 and 1937, as far as I can tell, the Donegal site may be correct, the Down site claims Down won it in 1940? Maybe it would be worth adding those dates into it? Anyway this site says [2] 'The Dr. Lagan Cup was an Ulster competition like the Gael Linn Cup in Connacht. It was discontinued after 1967.' Múinteoir 17:58 02 August 2007

Anyone out there with a reliable history of Ulster football? Seems a lot of sources regarding this article appear to be inconsistent, there must be somewhere with a accurate list, foundation year etc?

Múinteoir 18:10 02 August 2007

I got an email from the Ulster council and they say that these are the official winners:

Dr Lagan Cup Winners:

Derry (6) - 1945, 1947, 1950, 1953, 1959, 1961
Down (5) - 1949, 1960, 1962, 1963, 1964
Donegal (4) - 1952, 1965, 1966, 1967,
Antrim (3) 1944, 1946, 1948
Tyrone (3) - 1943, 1957, 1958
Armagh (3) - 1954, 155, 1956
Monaghan (1) - 1951

The stuff written on the Donegal website etc is inaccurate. The guy in the email said the list of winners is on permanent display there and the list above is the one given. Múinteoir 16:17 08 August 2007

Well done, good thinking. Derry Boi 15:55, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
