The Romanian national road DN2 (Drumul Naţional 2 in Romanian) links Bucharest with the historical region of Moldavia in north-east Romania. Recently upgraded, it is today the best-maintained road in the country. Along the 500 km from the city capital to Siret, at the Ukrainian border, the road has four lanes and reconstructed bridges. Together with the adjacent section of DN28 Roman - Iaşi, the DN2 is currently Moldavia 's backbone.
The main cities linked by the DN2 are: Bucharest, Buzău, Focşani, Bacău, Roman, and Suceava.
