26 November 2007
I checked the reference (number 3) to About.com and that article says nothing (that I can see) about DMX's bipolar disorder being caused by sexual abuse from his father. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.67.187.43 (talk) 00:09, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
31 Aug 2007 I have removed all text showing that DMX was shot and killed outside of a strip club on 30 August 2007. There is NO NEWS whatsoever that this event has occurred, and until there is, does not need to be shown in Wikipedia as an unverified entry. Blatantly lying about someone's death is rude and disrespectful. Spikester81 21:29, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
I think there should be more info on his albums and life story. --Willis835 15:19, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
I love DMX... i think you need to update this... he has now joined SONY, but there are no reasons to why... please find out. THANKS!
There should be more info on various things and the page layout should be better, also add info about his singles.
Seriously though, this entire page sounds so fan boy. So he'a a tuff rapper from the streets. Got any references to back that up?
I made vast edits regarding links, formatting, and POV. I also added the unreferenced label due to the lack of sources.Dan Kimmons 21:32, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Somebody keeps putting the career start for DMX at 1998, wherelse in the article, it said that he appeared in the Unsigned Hype Section of the Source in 1991. Whatever the case is, DMX was on Mic Geronimo's The Natural album in 1995, but before that in the period of 1991-1995, he had a video and song called "Born Loser" which was never aired on MTV because of the so-called "violent and explicit" scences in the video. It really annoyes me that MTV would rather play rap videos with cars and clothes, but would not play videos about real life.
[edit] Needs reputible resources
This article needs to try to find some actual information from newspapers, magazines and non-partisan third-parties. We cannot determine what site is official for any particular organization or person based on original research. The web site needs to be mentioned as official in an article and not an advertisment for it to be verifiable. Any information from the web site must also be avoided since it is self-referencing, biased and autobiographical. Ste4k 03:40, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Criminal Record
- In September 4, 2006 Bobby Brown, DMX, Busta Rhymes have all been arrested for possession drugs for personal use.
Any reason this is here? Awkward and tangential. MKV 16:56, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
I would say it is somewhat relevant but I think we need a link to see it as I never heard of this and that it should be pulled until proof is presented from a good source-DogPHman 02:45, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
"DMX mentions his criminal attorney, Murray Richman, also known as "Don't Worry Murray", in E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX[3]." Is this even meaningful?-DogPHman 02:49, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
I completely deleted the line about "September 4, 2006 arrests, because it was changed from "possesion for drugs" to "Bum Sex or Anal Sex". Clear vandalism, and the comment didn't seem appropriate anyway, so it's gone now. --le petite robot 17:41, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why
"DMX is a fan of the Pit Bull type dogs (American Pit Bull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers). He has a tattoo of one of his deceased dogs, on his back, which reads "One Love Boomer". He later contributed over $1 million to the United Negro Association for unfortunate black children in New York City."

[edit] Blood boiling dogs?
"DMX is known for his love of dogs, and owns several as pets. On April 20, 2006, he was away from his home and had put up most of his pet dogs in a kennel. The kennel accidentally burned down, killing all animals inside, though no humans perished. In many cases, the animals' blood had boiled in their veins, then burst while they were still alive and spewed red hot blood indiscriminately. DMX, on returning home, confronted the kennel owner and demanded to know where his dogs were at. The owner had no response. DMX has since bought many new dogs to replace his lost pets."
Is that even possible?! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.89.243.37 (talk) 12:30, 9 April 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Crooked I
Crooked I has just made a whole diss track towards DMX recently as a result of some Comments DMX made about the West Coast and their style of rap and life. just wondering if anyone else has heard anything about it and if you have does anyone know if X will respond...if you need a little information about it you can find it on DMXWORLD.com and the Diss Track is called 'I'm Thrown'.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:DMX - Lord give me a sign.jpg
Image:DMX - Lord give me a sign.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:56, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 1999, 2000 VMAs
Was there a reason for DMX not showing up for his scheduled VMA performances in 99 and 00

[edit] Birthday Problems
The beginning of the article declares 'born on december 18, 1970', but in Background Information, the birthday 'march 28, 1973' is listed.Jkister 09:16, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Place of Birth / Real Name
When you search Wikipedia for DMX, the result is DMX whose real name is Earl Simmons. The opening line of this articles says that his real name is Jim Brooks. Then the article continues to make reference to Simmons. The Backgound information shows James John Brooks.
Opening line says he is an English Rapper. Early life says he was born in Carshalton, Surrey, yet the background information says he was born in Baltimore, MD, and is American.
This article has too many conflicts on these basic fundamentals.
The Autobiogarphy says Earl Simmons was born in Mount vernon, New York.--80.66.6.242 (talk) 11:11, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Deputies find snakes, blood in DMX's home
"The search warrant from the Friday raid on his Cave Creek home reveals that aside from a dozen malnourished dogs, detectives also found cars with untraceable license plates, rattlesnakes in the rapper's kitchen and blood all over one room."
Detectives also pulled out dozens of high-powered rifles and handguns.--Sexecutioner 17:57, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

- Theres the proof right there Taylor21 02:22, 19 October 2007 (UTC) (Image:Dmx_tattoo.JPG)
-
- All sources indicate he was born in 1970. Tattoos do not count as reliable sources. shoeofdeath 08:42, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Ok then i guess thats fair enough, even though i reckon the tattooed birth year is right seeing is he would know his own birth year and it would be stupid to put another year on your arm, but i do understand that all other sources say 1970 and we have to go by the reliable sources rule, even though its really stupid putting the wrong year as his age of birth, but awell.... Taylor21 09:38, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Place of birth
Sources are conflicting as to where, exactly, he was born.
- In his official autobiography, E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX, he states he was born in Mount Vernon, New York.
- His official website ([1]) states he was born in Yonkers, New York (it seems clear this is where he was raised, at least).
- Almost every online source states he was born in Baltimore, Maryland. ([2], [3], many others)
If anyone has any information that might help determine his true birth location, please share it. shoeofdeath 08:42, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DEATH?
XXL MAGAZINE LINK .. http://www.xxlmag.com/online/?p=17744 good source but i still can't believe the dog is dead. YO! Raps confirms it too
- That article simply says that he collapsed, and has nothing about him dying. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 01:35, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
It turns out D is alive and well and is recording a hip hop/gospel album. People collapse from overdose's and then get out of the hospital quickly, which is more than likely what happened here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.197.245.159 (talk) 05:21, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Horrid Fake Words
Somebody practically destroyed the page of the Flesh of my Blood section by writing about their penis obsession. I'm fixing this right away!
[edit] Tags
I've added a larger issue tag to the article, primarily due to lack of references. The most glaring problem with the lack of citations is in what was previously the "Criminal history" section. I've changed the heading title to "Arrests" because an arrest doesn't imply guilt or conviction, thus negating the arrest as a criminal history. The larger issue with this section is that several of the list entries have no citations and are subject to being removed, which I will do in a few days if no citations have been added. This is a big potential WP:BLP violation and liability issue that needs to be summarily corrected. Wildhartlivie (talk) 20:11, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
