Diego Mario Buonanotte Rende (born April 19, 1988 in Santa Fe), is an argentine footballer currently playing for River Plate. The dimminutive (159 cm) playmaker made his debut as a 17-year old on April 9, 2006 in the win against Instituto (3-1).
In October 7, 2007, only one week after coming in as a substitute for the second time in his career and scoring his first goal at senior level, Buonanotte was picked by coach Daniel Passarella to start in the derby against Boca Juniors. River Plate won 2-0, with Buonanotte playing a key role in the victory. Buonanotte has since been included as a regular starter in the team. He was named by World Soccer Magazine as one of the '50 most exciting teenagers in the world game'.
Buonanotte is a small and agile player who plays just behind the main strikers.
