DeIn 2002, the Danish broadcaster DR organized Melodi Grand Prix Nordic in Copenhagen. It was the preceder of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The first Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held a year later in Copenhagen. The country has managed well with three partipications and three top-5 places.
