Croatia was the first country to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, with Dino Jelusić. His sister, Lorena Jelusić, sang for the country as well, in 2005, coming in 12th.
Croatia will not participate in 2007 due to expense. They would have been excluded or fined if they had taken part in 2007 as they breached EBU broadcasting rules in 2006. Croatia therefore became the first country that had won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in the past to leave the contest.
