I added a link to this and it was taken down - why? We have a huge collection of information - articles, photos, news updates - that would be useful and interesting to any fan or admirer. What is the rationale for taking down the link?

I'm going to add it again, before anyone takes it down could they possibly offer an explanation?

Actually, I thought that when he won an Emmy or some other award that he thanked his partner... He is definitely an openly gay actor, either way. That should be added in. And it certainly is not "in poor taste" to include that fact, which he is certainly not ashamed of. -- 68.37.218.5

In the Hellboy movie, David Hyde Pierce provided the voice of Abe Sapien, but was unlisted in the credits. This is confirmed on the IMDB. Anyone know why exactly he's uncredited? -unsigned User:Master Deusoma (16:30, 8 June 2006)

While I cannot confirm this, I recall reading somewhere that he did not want to be credited because he didn't want his name to focus attention away from the main stars of the film such as Ron Perlman, or the special effects. -unsigned User:210.216.45.65 (30 September 2006)

I actually like how the article handles his homosexuality-in that it neither hides nor overemphasizes it. Currently, it doesn't even directly mention his orientation at all (which has little to do with his status as an actor), but still readily lists his 'partner'. Bladestorm 23:04, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree. Having statements like "The gay actor...." or "He outed himself at...." is a bit over the top. Articles about heterosexual actors don't tend to explicitly state their sexual orientation and I see no reason why articles for gay actors should. 68.117.211.187 23:09, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps because most (heterosexual) people just assume everyone is heterosexual and a well-known male actor being open about his orientation to the point of acknowledging his same-sex partner on a live international television broadcast is sadly still rare enough to be notable. Also, plenty of articles about heterosexuals "flaunt" their sexuality by mentioning their oppposite sex spouses; at the very least, his partner should be named on the same basis. And his partner is mentioned. However, when I read articles that mention that someone is homosexual without tying it into the article I'm always reminded of crime reports that open up with something like "Black male arrested for armed robbery" or "Cherry Hill, an African-American woman, was busted for prostitution" but never mention the race of the suspect if they are white (e.g. Kenneth Lay, a white man and head of Enron was arrested....).
