[edit] Rollback?
You may or may not have heard that the rollback admin tool can now be given to non-admins. As a longstanding trusted user I see no reason why you shouldn't have it, so if you want me to enable it, drop a note on my talk page. Make sure you read Wikipedia:Rollback feature thoroughly first though! (short version: it should only be used for straightforward vandalism reverts, not anything which would require explaining in an edit summary. If in doubt don't use it). Thanks for the info on Bill Harper, by the way. Oldelpaso (talk) 10:41, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Pelham Grenville von Donop
Excellent work - many thanks for expanding the article. His name cropped up in some books about tramways, and it was fascinating finding out the further bits of information about him. Who'da thunk it? Divy (talk) 11:23, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Commas
In your opinion, commas aren't needed after dates. For other people, it's common grammar. - Dudesleeper Talk 16:56, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Joe Mallett 1916 - 2004
Hi - just wondered if your were responsible for the wikipedia entry on Joe Mallett? If you are then I have to thank you heartily for ensuring it is so accurate - I have spoken with my nan about it (Joe's wife) and have confirmed all the dates are spot on.
Many many thanks indeed.

[edit] Jon Beswetherick
Jon Beswetherick is on a 1 month loan from Salisbury City to Weston-super-Mare as stated http://www.confsouth.co.uk/transfers.htm and http://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/sport/salisburysportnews/display.var.1977544.0.craig_goes_out_on_loan.php here. Therefore his player box should not have been taken out as he is still a current member of Weston-super-Mare. Your "undo" was incorrect. GauchoDude (talk) 08:24, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] William Rawson citation
Hi. Until such time as a straightforward reference can be found (if ever), I have used the information you gave me to produce an acceptable guide to verification, formatted as a reference instead of the cite tag, which is now gone. Between us, we've completed the task of expanding and referencing in this article. Let's hope for many more. Thanks and well done. Ref (chew)(do) 21:25, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Billy Mosforth
Thanks for the tip off. I've merged the two articles. I didn't transfer the reference to Arjen Robben as I couldn't find any references (the only page that mentions both players was on wikipedia and its clones) and the two players careers are over a century apart making comparisons unlikely. josh (talk) 19:11, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Football
Thanks for your message. No, I'm not going through them - just happened to have them come up as Random articles. Pedantic of me perhaps, but a club is singular (so's a band or group or party come to that) and it grates on my memories of being taught English grammar at school to have something so simple so wrong. I can just about bear "Tottenham Hotspur were the best team*....." and the implicit understanding that Tottenham Hotspur is its individuals, but "The club were beaten..." is a singular too far. [edit] AfD nomination of Gerry O'Brien
I have nominated Gerry O'Brien, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gerry O'Brien. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Docg 01:42, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Transwiki to a more inclusive site
Hi Daemonic Kangaroo,
I see that you've been very active in Wikipedia, especially with regard to bios of sporting figures. As a couple of your articles are currently under review for deletion on the grounds of non-notability, I wanted to suggest that you consider transferring them to Wikipopuli, a wiki that I set up to host biographical articles without a notability requirement. Indeed, given your level of experience in the wiki world, I'd be grateful for any feedback you care to give on the site. Thanks TheYellowCabin (talk) 16:17, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New players
Hi, I had no idea such a page existed and have now added all my new pages from February. If you want a full list of the articles I've created then see my subpage, which I'm in the process of revamping. Cheers, GiantSnowman (talk) 13:58, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Kevin Davies
I found that the height of Kevin Davies had been changed a few times since Sunday night, so I did a small amount of research. Any further information you will desire about what I made of a simple 30-second-long Google search can be found in my questions on Shakehandsman's User talk page. Intrigued to see what you make of it. Bobo. 12:22, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Harry Daft
Hi, just a quick message to say many thanks for your improvement of this article, looks miles better now! Cheers, GiantSnowman (talk) 16:55, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Just curious
First, I don't believe there is any difference between any of those things. However, of the things you allude to, the edit I made only changed <br> to <br />, and that's just something I do when I'm making other edits. I wouldn't do it just for the sake of doing it. As for the {{height}} to {{convert}} change, the {{height}} template is now deprecated and has had its functionality taken over by {{convert}}. Finally, I also changed hyphens for endashes, which is per WP:DASH. – PeeJay 14:54, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Birleys
Well done with your work here. My involvement was only passing and there does seem to be little info available. Thank again.Cutler (talk) 10:14, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Alan Shearer
Just wondering what your source is for changing Shearer's total league goals. Nickpullar explained the reason for his "correction" of it both on Shearer's talk page and here. - Dudesleeper / Talk 17:58, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note - as far as I can see, his arithmetic is wrong. If you look at the 2001-02 results at [1], Shearer did score 27 goals in total but 4 of those were cup goals; 2 vs. Ipswich & 1 each vs. Palace and Peterborough. Thus, his league goals in 2001-02 were 23, not 24. This ties up with the totals at Soccerbase and www. allfootballers.com. I was meaning to leave a note on the talk page, but family life got in the way. I'll do it straightaway. If you don't agree, I'll have a closer look at the individual match results. Cheers. 20:27, --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 20:29, 24 February 2008 (UTC)24 February 2008 (UTC)
