D. D. Lewis (Seattle Seahawks).
Dwight Douglas "D. D." Lewis (born October 16, 1945 in Knoxville, Tennessee) is a former American football linebacker in the NFL. He attended Fulton High School in Knoxville, and went on to earn All-American and Southeastern Conference Player of the Year honors in 1967 at Mississippi State University. In 2001 he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Lewis was drafted in the 1968 NFL Draft in the 6th round by the Dallas Cowboys. After serving as Chuck Howley's backup for four seasons, Lewis took over the weakside linebacker position for the Cowboys in 1973, (he spent '69 in military service). During his career he appeared in five Super Bowls (V, VI, X, XII and XIII). Although Lewis was never selected to a Pro Bowl or All-Pro squad, he was a steady player and served as defensive co-captain in 1977 and 1978.
