Cypress Ridge High School

Cypress Ridge High School is a secondary school located in unincorporated Harris County, Texas. It was established in 2002 as Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District High School #7.

In mid 2006, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) rated the school as "persistently dangerous"[1]. Students were given the option to transfer out of the school for free. Many members of the public, most notably Joshua Benton, and the administration at Cypress Ridge felt that the label was an inaccurate portrayal of the learning environment[2]. The rating was challenged and revoked early September 2006 because of the incorrect reporting of crimes that were committed on the school campus.
