Can you add Brian Lara Images

Please, can you or your contacts put a picture/s of this great man that does not violate copyright issues? Brian Lara Wikipedia page requires pictures of him -- a portrait image and some cricketing images. Thanks 130.194.5.130 00:41, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Ishant Sharma

The general Wikipedia guideline is that appearing for a full national team is notable, but not appearing for a youth national team. Thanks, NawlinWiki 12:14, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Mushtaq Mohammad

What is your source of 17-78 for his first century ? Almost all the references have it as 17-82. He scored it on the fourth day of the match, so I suspect your source used the starting date of the match instead of the one on which he scored his 100. Tintin (talk) 15:32, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Good work

Just wanted to drop a thank you note for the many cricket articles that you started ... Tintin 08:54, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Harvinder Singh

Hi just wondered why you've reversed my small addition to the Harvinder Singh page twice today without telling my why. talk Fri Apr 13 13:18:40 CEST 2007

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Phillip Hughes (cricketer)

Are you aware of this? I have seen a lot of your articles, I am suprised how small this article is you are usually more comprehensive. That you have put so little in this article makes me think there is little to say?Garrie 04:15, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

You're right, there is very little to say about the guy at this stage hence it being a stub. I've seen alot of articles on here about non first class cricketers who have represented their country at under 19 level. I reckon there would be atleast 30 of them, not saying that they should be there but I merely felt that a precedent had been sent. Now this guy has captained his country - http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/australia/engine/current/match/288202.html so if any of these players are notable than he would be one I feel. Cheers Crickettragic

In your contributions (Special:Contributions/crickettragic) it looks like you are reverting all of 12345ak (talk · contribs) contributions. What's up? --Iamunknown 23:57, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a short time in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule on Ranjit Fernando. Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Revert-warring in a very big way. 12-hour block to prevent disruption & article is now fully protected. Your edit-warring friend is also getting the same - Alison 00:56, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

dummy edit to remove the request for unblock template off your page. User:Alison has already reviewed and unblocked (see below). —Moondyne 02:48, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm not an admin, but I spotted 12345ak's post on ANI. The whole situation is rather confusing. The one thing that seemed clear to me, though, is that neither of you communicated with one another. Is that a fair assessment? --Iamunknown 01:18, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

I am guilty of not explaining to the guy why I was deleting the material sure, but that was only because he was well aware. If and when I get unblocked I am not sure whether I am even going to start posting here again, that is how peeved off I am about how this has been handled. Firstly you need to look at the material he kept adding, clearly unacceptable and with a link to a hate site. When I started removing this material I was flooded with harassing messages on my talk page which I deleted. When I got up this morning I see that this person has reversed my last 30 edits to various articles. Please take a look at them yourself and you will see that my edits were genuine. I then posted a complaint to WikipediaCricket and asked the more experienced members how best to deal with this. I then found that over the next hour this person was editing this post and reversing the names. The harassment then contiued with the user posting the reversed complaint in the place which you found it. --Crickettragic 01:28, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
The diffs are indeed everywhere. :-D I am inclined to think, based upon 12345ak's previous edits, that he or she moved the link to the bottom (which was originally added by an anonymous user, see [1]) which is, although the link is to a hate site, proper formatting.
I assumed after seeing the diffs that it was a failure to communicate. I also noticed (no hard feelings) that you haven't used your user talk page very much [2]. That might be a good thing to do when your block expires or when you get unblocked. (Also about that, see Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Betacommand/Proposed_decision#Communication; bad things happen when people don't communicate.) :-)
I'll leave a note at Alison's talk page on your and 12345ak's behalf. --Iamunknown 01:36, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I can see that you meant well. However, you were in a full-on revert war in which you failed to either communicate with nor warn the other user, regardless of their POV or not. You need to warn them when they transgress and if and when they go over the line, report them. The result otherwise is just mayhem. I know you had the best of intentions which is why the block was only 12 hours. Unblocking now ... - Alison 02:31, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Crickettragic, Are you still blocked? I can't see any autoblocks active. Post a msg here to advise. —Moondyne 04:15, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Not seeing one either. That IP address is coming up as unblocked - Alison 04:17, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Everything seems ok now, don't know what was going on. Anyway thanks for the unblock, glad we got that sorted. Hope I didn't come across as rude, I was just very frustrated that is all. Cheers —Crickettragic 04:19, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

That was wierd, but glad that its fixed. FYI, the guy and his sockpuppets have been indefblocked. I can only reiterate what Alison said: If you start to get drawn into an edit war, it's vital that you keep communicating. Remember Wikipedia:Three-revert rule. —Moondyne 04:24, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
  • (ec) Glad it's all sorted out now. And I do feel bad about blocking you. Given the stress that guy was putting you under, what you did was understandable. I should have researched in more depth & was unaware of the ANI reporting. Glad you're back again now. BTW - I'll keep a watch on your user and talk page for a while just in case that guy comes back to harrass you. Thanks to Iamunknown and Moondyne for getting involved :) - Alison 04:27, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Wikistalking / personal threats via Cambridge Univ

Just to let you know that the long-term vandal who made those personal threats against you and who has been causing all that mayhem has been identified by college authorities and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken. Nobody should have to put up with that sort of abuse. Sorry it took so long but just letting you know that you weren't forgotten! - Alison 11:47, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Alison, I really appreciate your efforts in dealing with this issue Crickettragic 21:46, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Wow, Alison, that's really cool. Thanks for sorting everything out, and thanks to you, Crickettragic, for still being resilient even after the mixup and willing to contribute to Wikipedia!  :-) --Iamunknown 21:59, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Tim Clarke

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed maintenance notices from Tim Clarke, even though required changes haven't been made. If you are uncertain whether the page requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the page's talk page before removing the notice from the page. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of a page. Thank you. Valrith 14:03, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Fraser Watts

Thanks for clearing up Watts' nationality. I'd put him in Category:Scotland cricketers (as opposed to the separate Category:Scottish cricketers) because I thought he was actually English on account of his birthplace, but Scottish is definitely right. Loganberry (Talk) 00:13, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

One day records

That's an attractive list, well done. It's hard to find stats for domestic one day records outside cricket archive. Why not drop a message on Will's 'the corridor' blog? [[3]] He actually works for Cricinfo so if you tell him the stats there are out of date he might get something done about it. Nick mallory 03:25, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Maninder Singh

Sorry about that, I went to the front page of cricinfo and didn't see anything. Thanks for your workBlnguyen (bananabucket) 02:50, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Cricinfo

If you create any more cricket articles can I PLEASE ask you not to quote Cricinfo as a source. It is completely unreliable. The case of Derek Taylor which you recently created says it all. Use CricketArchive instead as an internet source. Better still for modern players is Playfair. --BlackJack | talk page 20:14, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Good work

Great work on the Namibian national cricket captains article. A source for Duane Viljoen's full name, who you had billed in the article you authored as D Viljoen, as per Cricket Archive, can be found here. Hope this helps you out, as it serves as a fascinating resource for the country's cricketing history. Bobo. 20:38, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

List of VFL/AFL records

I just wanted to say great work on the page; i added a list and i will be updating it at the end of each round. If you have any ideas of what else could be added to the page i would be glad to help. Perdy80 03:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

AFL Biography articles

Hey, i'm an Aussie who's currently on the new pages patrol and noticed a couple of articles you've been adding regarding AFL players (or VFL depending on how long you've been following the game. To make sure these articles are tagged to the correct project, can you please consider placing {{WP Australia|afl=yes}} on each articles talk page as it's created. Thanks in advance, Thewinchester (talk) 06:43, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Your recent report to WP:AIV

Thank you for making a report about Fluffyducky (talk · contribs · block log) at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators generally only block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. In this case the editor has not recieved a recent final warning on the talk page. Warnings left in edit summaries cannot be included due to the fact that the editor may not see them. Also activity seems to have stopped for now. If the user re-starts issue a final warning, and then we will block from there. Any further questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. Khukri 07:28, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
