Plot Inconsistencies? Al-Rahman's main objective appears to entail the humiliation and destruction of America in the way his own country was humiliated when the Ultimates invaded, though his dialogue in Ultimates #9 (2nd series) states that he is not looking for revenge. Several issues later in Ultimates #11 (2nd series), Al-Rahman states, 'I've been waiting half my life to rip that flag off your chest.' Not only does this negate his prior claim, it also establishes a possible plot error: Colonel Al-Rahman is only seventeen years old, and the Ultimates' invasion of his country only transpired several months prior. It is possible that he could have been using the term loosely, or held an enmity towards the Captain prior to the fall of his country.
Notes Colonel Al-Rahman's uniform features what appears to be a stylized "W" on his chest and belt buckle, for reasons that have yet to be identified, and likely won't be, since he is dead. The only other Marvel universe character with similar logo is Wonder man aka Simon Williams.
- lol, racist Americans, when they manage to create a Muslim super heroe, they make him a vilan! lol! --Striver 11:02, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- They did'nt even get the name right, Abdul Al-Rahman is gramaticaly incorect, to not mention that Iranian do not use that name. --Striver 11:04, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- Was it ever said in the comics that the Colonel was from Iran specifically? All I gathered from the comic that he was from the Middle Eastern area. Lots42 05:52, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- THEY DO IN ULTIMATE IRAN
- Regarding the "Plot Inconsistencies", well, I don't think there is any at all. The Colonel didn't have a grudge against the people of the United States (he even orders Pym to use his Ultron robots to help minimize civilian casualties) but against the goverment, His personal vendetta against Cap America was less about having revenge, and more of Abdul seeing him as the embodiment of everything that was wrong with America.
- No, the Colonel had no problem was slaughtering American civillians. His team killed the civllians demonstrators on the Triskellion and the giant robot guys of his team intentionally went after innocent people. At all stages of the attack, civillians were killed with no regret. Lots42 05:52, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I think you should reread the comic, it was made pretty clear that the Colonel wanted for the invasion to be as clean and quick as possible. The Mechs started attacking civilians because the Crymson Dynamo unillaterally ordered them to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.37.138.30 (talk) 22:22, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Character concept flaws
The current sample panel has Colonel claiming that "the Great Satan has been liberated". I would not touch Ultimates with a ten feet pole, but since he is a member of the Liberators I take it that he refers to himself?!? That is rather puzzling, if true. Mark Millar and Marvel editorial staff should know better than to expect a Muslim Iranian with a grudge against America (or Captain America) to ever see his own side as that of "The Great Satan". It just doesn't happen, folks. Luis Dantas 12:53, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- I am confused. The Colonel was clearly insulting America, calling the USA the Great Satan. Lots42 05:49, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Article Discrepancies
This article is poorly written for sure, but it also says that he is from Azerbaijan, Iran, as well as Waziristan. Waziristan is a region between Pakistan and Afghanistan, not anywhere near Iran.Stellis 04:56, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] His Weapon
Is that Darth Maul's lightsaber? --81.233.196.49 (talk) 18:53, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- ???? No, it just resembles it. In fact, a character makes a joke about it. I guess you can call it an example of hanging a lantern. Lots42 (talk) 13:39, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
