[edit] Last modern whaling station in North America

The last modern whaling station was not the one in Coal Harbour. One existed in Richmond, California until 1971. See Webb, R. L. 2001. “Power Whaling: Industrial Shore Whaling on the West Coast 1905-1972.” In Whale Hunters on Western Shores. Mains’l vol. 37 no. 1. He gives the wrong date (1972 instead of 1971), but gives a good overview of modern whaling on the west coast of North America. Jonas Poole (talk) 03:52, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, that was the last station on the west coast. There were a few stations in Newfoundland and Labrador until 1972. My mistake. Jonas Poole (talk) 03:55, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
