[edit] Discussion

I changed the name of the council from Londonderry to Derry as this is the official name and it has a page, the other link was dead.--Shimbo 00:22, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

The redlink came from an mistaken edit by 147.252.83.57. The council had a different name in 1978 (as did the airport). --Henrygb 03:31, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

The official name of the served city is Londonderry. To suggest it is "Derry" is erroneous. Wikipedia is a place of facts not a political forum. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wildfire1978 (talk • contribs) 17:37, August 23, 2007 (UTC).

Nobody calls the city or the airport by the name Londonderry. Its City of Derry Airport which one will find is in the city of Derry.PalX 19:30, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

You are joking right? A MILLION people call the city and airport Londonderry and that is just in Ulster! Londonderry is the official and correct name of the city and Wikipedia should be using the proper name for the place! YourPTR! 19:26, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

I hope we are all well aware that different people use different names for Derry/Londonderry. However, this has all been discussed already and there is an agreed compromise in place (on wikipedia, the county is called Londonderry and the city Derry) this is official wikipedia policy (see WP:IMOS#Derry_.2F_Londonderry. --Shimbo 08:34, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:CityofDerryAirport.jpg

Image:CityofDerryAirport.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
