[edit] Merge?

Dunno how far this can be expanded beyond a dictionary definition, would it be better merged into Comune or somewhere to give a broader perspective? I guess you could have something on the history, and what functions they're respnsible for. FlagSteward (talk) 19:38, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Dunno. I have just changed the interwki to it:Circoscrizione di decentramento comunale as being more what the article is about than the previous it:Circoscrizione which is a more general article interwikied to en:Administrative division. And certainly a translation of that article would be more than a dictionary definition. Nevertheless, some sort of merge of the various—utterly confusing to me!—sub-communal administrative entities into one article could be very worthwhile: frazioni, rioni, municipi (in Rome and Genova, according to it:Municipio), municipalità (in Naples and Venice, according to the same article), quartieri and so forth. Ideally one would like to see a decent article covering local politics/administration in the country rather broadly. Currently there is no article on the Communità montana, for instance, let alone the other unions of communes which have been officially authorised.
There is, I am pleased and surprised, to see, an article on località.
Hmmn. I see that one of the very few links to Circoscrizione is from a section of Novara (Novara#Local_government) for which I am to blame. Ian Spackman (talk) 23:09, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
