The Cedar River Railroad (AAR reporting marks CEDR) is a Class III railroad that operates on former Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific trackage.[2] The railroad was formed in 1991 after the acquisition of the Cedar Valley Railroad. In June 1996, Cedar River Railroad merged with Illinois Central, which later merged with Canadian National. The railroad has connections with Union Pacific in Glenville, MN, Iowa, Chicago and Eastern in Charles City, IA and Lyle, MN, and Chicago Central and Pacific at Waterloo, IA.
