Is there any source for the dubious claim re: the demographic make-up of the IRA during the 1921 period. I live in the area and was never aware of this. If it's true put it back.

I don't have a solid source. It was mentioned to me by someone from Castlederg, and seemed to be something of a point of pride.

We need to clear this issue up rather than having all this reverting and re-reverting. A recent history of the area, Castlederg and its Red River Valley doesn't mention or suggest that the IRA was ever a mixed organisation in the town. --Quarkstorm 08:30, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone know if any of the Monteith clan still live in or around Castlederg. My ancestors are from there and imigrated to Canada in 1833. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.64.163.231 (talk) 21:56, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

There are certainly people in the area called Monteith, not sure whether they form a clan though ;) Quarkstorm 12:05, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
