There's overlap between this category and Category:American cartoonists, though "American Cartoonist" does have many more entries. Personally, I think they should be merged into "Category:Cartoonist" as I think the "American" distinction is pretty unnecessary and arbitary - User:Hueysheridan

Category:American cartoonists is a sub category of this category, so all article within that category are thought to be in this category. I'm not convinced that that's the best way to do things though, and will raise this elsewhere. Hiding 14:41, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

It either needs to be one way or the other. Listing everyone under "Category:Cartoonists" makes for a very long list that's hard to sort through, even alphabetically. Partitioning them natonally makes sense for the way the world (and Wikipedia) works. – Morganfitzp 17:19, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
I have placed all the cartoonists that I could in the appropriate categories. The remaining entres are difficult to ascertain their nationality or did not warrant a category. See WP:CSB to avoid sestemic bias towards the United States. Alan Liefting 04:04, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
