Cartoceto is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pesaro e Urbino in the Italian region Marche, located about 50 km northwest of Ancona and about 15 km south of Pesaro. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,032 and an area of 23.2 km².[1]
The municipality of Cartoceto contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Lucrezia, Molinaccio, Pontemurello, Ripalta, Salomone, and Sant'Anna.
Cartoceto borders the following municipalities: Fano, Mombaroccio, Montemaggiore al Metauro, Piagge, Saltara, Serrungarina.
