Carimbo (Carimbó in Portuguese) is a tall African drum. It is made of a hollow trunk and covered with a deerskin. It is about 1m tall and 30cm wide.

The name Carimbo is also used for a Brazilian dance to the beat of this drum. This dance is originally from the Brazilian region of Pará, around Marajó island and the capital city of Belém.

In this dance, a woman throws her handkerchief on the floor and her male partner must attempt to retrieve the handkerchief using solely his mouth.
