The Little Squelchy Things don't actually cause his bad luck though, do they? They mostly just appear randomly in the background. Foolish Mortal 22:48, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

Agreed, reworded. BillyH 22:52, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

Little squelchy things appear much earlier than 1995. The earliest appearance I have so far identified is in issue 2415 (Oct 29 1988). I have corrected the timeline accordingly 86.154.150.200 16:30, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

I used to notice that there was constantly a coloured sock with stink-lines coming out of it in every strip without fail, almost like a signature. Is the sock still there? I haven't read the Beano since 2001. Lady BlahDeBlah 16:13, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

The sock is still there. It's in all that artist's strips, not just Calamity James. --Generalmiaow 12:18, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Most short-sighted steamroller driver in the west

Can't remember his name (apart from i'm pretty sure it was Mc-something) But he was another running gag in the strip and would often run James over in a steamroller. Can anyone else remember this character? --Cobsterjh (talk) 11:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
