La Cañada is a town located in the city of Alaquines, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

The Town was founded in 1618, by the settlers of Alaquines, La Cañada started the battle that happened in Las Huertas of the Mexico's Independence.

All the towns that connect with Alaquines agreed to fix the road from Alaquines to San Jose del Corito. La Cañada is the second largest town with a pop. of 8,000
