Buena Vista is an unincorporated community in Amador County, California. Its elevation is 272 feet (82 m) and it is located at . The community is in ZIP code 95640 and area code 209.
Buena Vista is the site of a small Miwok Indian reservation called Buena Vista Rancheria, which has been involved in a legal dispute with regards to the establishment of an Indian gaming casino on its grounds. Amador County contended that the rancheria was never a federally recognized reservation and thus could not qualify for a casino location. The issue is pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

In the state legislature Buena Vista is located in the 1st Senate District, represented by Republican Dave Cox, and in the 10th Assembly District, represented by Republican Alan Nakanishi. Federally, Buena Vista is located in California's 3rd congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +7[1] and is represented by Republican Dan Lungren.
