[edit] Your username
Hi, there. Your username is a bit long and contains foreign characters, which may lead to the confusion of other editors here, so per guidelines at WP:IU I would suggest you see WP:NAMECHANGE to have your username changed to something shorter. Cowman109Talk 22:31, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Username
You were recently blocked for having a long username, and was just unblocked. However, the concern about the length is still legitimate. I'd like to suggest you change it, or discuss. I'll take it to get wider opinion in a few days barring developments. — i said 22:32, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Apologies
I want to weigh in with an apology for the statements above. I assume this is your real life name and I hope you are not insulted at being told your real life name is too long for Wikipedia. Count me as someone who thinks you should not be asked to change your username simply because your real life name is longer than some guideline here specifies. —Wknight94 (talk) 23:01, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hello everybody. I was away for the weekend and wasn't aware of the problem, I'd like to assure that I don't feel in any way offended (never the less I greatly appriciate the support). As for the account name, actualy while my Christian name is indeed Grzegorz (Gregory), my surname is not Chrząszcz or Brzęszczykiewicz (those are just two nice sounding words in Polish I randomly chose), if this is too long and the usage of ą and ę are confusing I have no problem with the name being changed to say Brzeszczykiewicz --Grzegorz Chrząszcz vel Brzęszczykiewicz 17:19, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] December 2007
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Thank you. Alexfusco5 22:03, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- howdy, some people have raised such a question earlier and I don't have a problem with changing the username, however the consensus reached previously seemed to be that the present one is fine.--Grzegorz Chrząszcz vel Brzęszczykiewicz (talk) 22:07, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
