I think it's The Monks, Iowa as opposed to Monks, Iowa. Any info?Pedant 20:27, 2004 Oct 24 (UTC)

received this today:

Hi, I don't find any town in Iowa called The Monks or Monks. According to the info on his website http://www.editorialcomics.com/ Brian Giovanni grew up in Des Moines. It may be that the info you have is referencing the fact that Des Moines is rumored to be named after monks that were early settlers. http://www.dmgov.org/departments/AC/Information/AChistoricalinfo.htm I hope that helps! Sincerely, Marylee Woods City of Des Moines/Info Center

The last post to his blog is November 16, so I think he's still alive and kickin'. -- J.P. - 18 November 2006
