Branko Ilič (born February 6, 1983) is a Slovenian footballer of Serbian origin. His position is defender, as central defender or right back. He currently plays for Real Betis in the Spanish La Liga.

[edit] Club career

Ilič was loaned to Real Betis from NK Domžale in January 2007, becoming the first Slovenian to play for the club. His first appearance for Betis came against city rivals Sevilla in a King's Cup quarter-final. On 4 February, he played his first La Liga match, against Athletic Bilbao, where he assisted a goal for Robert. Ilič soon became one of the most important players in Betis's fight against relegation.

The Andalusian side completed the transfer of Ilič for €1.5 million in the summer of 2007. [1]
