[edit] US Army Aviation Museum
FYI: I'm working on a little article for the Army Aviation Museum sandbox. I haven't been there but it looks interesting. It has a few experimental VSTOL aircraft such as the XV-1 but they are not on display (at least when the listing was put on the site). Since the Southern Museum of Flight has a short article, the aviation probably should too. If you know anything about it and want to help, please do so. Thanks. -Fnlayson (talk) 04:39, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm getting close to a decent stub, but it's mostly list stuff. I need to go to it in person to get a better feel for it and maybe get newer brochure than the museum's web site. -Fnlayson (talk) 16:02, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] FRAHM damper / FRAHM dampener
With reference to your revert to my edit on Bell 407
It is specifically referred to as a FRAHM damper by Bell and not a dampener

There are other references for the 407 at http://www.bellcustomer.com/files/displayCategory.cfm?ID=22

- Let's see, you reverted without a summary, and without a reference, back to an edit that was based solely on an incorrect presumption about grammar. The use of "dampener" is common in the industry in regards to rotor construction. The misunderstanding is probably that vibration absorbers aren't always called "dampers" and are rarely located on the top of the rotor system. --Born2flie (talk) 06:43, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Install RTF deleted
Hi Born2flie,
Since this template no longer seems to be in use or currently referenced in articles anywhere I've deleted it. If you need its history restored, feel free to contact me. -- Netsnipe ► 06:52, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Army Aviation
I can accept that "Army Aviation" verbatim, in English MAY be applied to other forces, but can you actually provide me a case in which it actually is used? Alternatively, would you concur that it is so heavily used within U.S. Army Aviation that an actual Army Aviation page (or at least a disambiguition page) would be more helpful? Saseigel (talk) 12:54, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Additionally, we are a U.S. Army Aviation family. I have spent many hours at the museum and on the various ramps at Ft. Rucker. I had the very distinct pleasure to have dinner with CW5 Mike Novosel as well as meeting with him on several occasions and attending his memorial (also held at the museum). I've had the priveledge to examine an ARH up close (but not to actually fly in it) during a summer festival at Ft. Rucker. As well as Ft. Rucker, we've been stationed in Germany and Korea with U.S. Army Aviation. Prior to this we were stationed in California, Texas, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and Germany in another branch. I have met thousands of aviators including many from south and central America, Canada, the middle east, Africa, Japan, Korea and Europe. Not one has ever referred to any of their various nations' military aviation programs as "Army Aviation." Perhaps this was out of politeness to our program, but given the huge variety in what is considered polite within this group, I really doubt that. Saseigel (talk) 13:05, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Please review Wikipedia:Disambiguation with me so that we can decide this together. Thanks, Scott Saseigel (talk) 13:07, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

- Born, I've gone ahead and put the Army aviation article online. I can't remember where the other discussion on the topic is, so if you can add this link, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. - BillCJ (talk) 18:25, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cessna CH-1
I found an image of the CH-1 and requested the owner release it into the public domain. Happy to say they were ok with that and it now graces the Cessna_CH-1 article. Since you were a major editor there thought you might want to know. - Owlmonkey (talk) 20:26, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Bell YOH-4
Born, sorry if we've crossed up some edits today. I created the Bell YOH-4 page yesterday, as I think we can better cover the model on one main page than across two pages as it has been. However, I haven't get everything cleaned up in the OH-58 and Bell 206 pages as yet. I was starting to work on moving most of the LOH/OH-4 background out of the OH-58 when I realized you were adding in some new info. (Good info btw, which answered some questions I had about the 206 series development from creating the new page.) Go ahead and finish what you're working on, and I'll try to rationalize the 3 pages later tonight; I'm not expecting you to do my work for me! Thanks. - BillCJ (talk) 18:52, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
