Welcome to my discussion page. I welcome all sorts of stuff here, rantings, criticisms, etc. But please obey the Wikipedia rules for user talk pages; I don't engage in an edit war or something, nor do I delight in vandalizing, OK? Anyway, how on earth do you Wikipedians make userbots in here?

[edit] URGENT!

This is about your abuse report. Can you compile a complete list of IP addresses used for the vandalism in that school range? It's best to report them all. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 15:55, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

So you're from the Phillipines? That's cool, that's where my father is from. I don't live with him though, I've raised by my mother and grandmother, who are white. I'm really hoping to get a reply today since the school that the vandals attend probably won't be open tomarrow. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 16:30, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Hatty_Jones.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Hatty_Jones.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 01:37, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

I've just replaced the GFDL license tag with a more appropriate one, so case closed... Blake Gripling (talk) 02:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Nokia 3110 Classic.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Nokia 3110 Classic.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 05:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright and replaceability

Hi, thanks for the message on the talk page. I should clarify a couple of things.

First, all images are copyrighted by default. When someone takes a photograph or writes a piece of music or draws a picture, that piece of work is copyrighted automatically. For other people to use it, the creator, has to license the image to another user, sell the copyright, or release the work to public domain. So you can't just take an image from the web and give it a GFDL or Creative Commons license - that right belongs to the copyright owner.

Second, replaceable means that a reasonable decent substitute can be created. So in the case of mobile phone components, it wouldn't be too much trouble for a Wikipedia editor to take a phone apart and take a picture. Sure, it probably won't be as pretty as a professional publicity shot, but it still gets the job done.

Anyway, let me now if you have any questions, but in the meantime, please follow the directions on the {{rfu}} tag and don't remove dispute tags from images. Thank you. --Mosmof (talk) 13:01, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent report to WP:AIV

Hi, I removed your report of User:Lancestop to AIV, as it's not the same editing pattern written here. I'm familiar with Gonzalez though there's a high probability it would be better to pass by WP:SSP and then change the sock puppet page to include the Locsin edits. Khukri 09:43, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Bitoy Album.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Bitoy Album.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:43, 26 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 16:43, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bitoy Album.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Bitoy Album.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:04, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NrDg

I won't revert your revert, but I noticed the problem, and decided that the best way for NrDg to notice DemiLovato15's misbehaviour was to leave it intact. It wasn't doing any particular harm, and it certainly makes it own point. Kww (talk) 00:58, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh... Sorry about that... Blake Gripling (talk) 01:05, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop assuming ownership

Please stop assuming ownership of articles such as Angel Locsin. Doing so may lead to disruptive behavior such as edit wars and is a violation of policy, which may lead to a block from editing. 203.177.240.215 (talk) 03:06, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

See my reply at your talk page. Wikipedia is NOT a fan site! Blake Gripling (talk) 03:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Sorry but I'm not convinced. You are really assuming that you own Angel Locsin and Strawberry Shortcake's articles. Sorry but you must not do it. We are here in Wikipedia to improve articles OK? 203.177.240.215 (talk) 03:23, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
I repeat I am NOT assuming ownership of articles! What you did to Angel's article, for the millionth time, is conflict of interest and unnecessary, and is reverted. I only did my job - you're the one who's disrupting... Blake Gripling (talk) 04:12, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Blakegripling, since the anon user is already blocked, I would advise to move on and ignore his/her comments. I see that you only reverted/edited edits that reeked of POV and you also did your best to clean up other articles. If this anon user still harasses you after the block is lifted, just report him/her to an admin so that the matter can be dealt with accordingly. Thanks. --- Tito Pao (talk) 04:23, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Just so you know, me and a few other Pinoy Wikipedians were also aware of that now-banned user you were mentioning. If you happen to encounter another (registered) account which might be a sockpuppet of this guy, do let me know so that I can take a look at the articles he has edited and clean them up. Thanks again ;-) --- Tito Pao (talk) 04:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
