[edit] Image source problem with Image:M 7aa0659f41b68cb37c41372ebf21dffd.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:M 7aa0659f41b68cb37c41372ebf21dffd.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:M 7aa0659f41b68cb37c41372ebf21dffd.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:M 7aa0659f41b68cb37c41372ebf21dffd.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:43, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] St Mary Cray, Orpington and User :talk:Diamonddannyboy
Thank you for your reversal of my trying to fix a persistent copyvio on these pages, it probably appeared to be vandalism. This new user has already been blocked as an IPVandal for adding this material again and again. I have written something more explanatory on his talk page to try to persuade him not to go down this path.
I think blocking is the wrong way to deal with the user, but the material has a clear origin (BBC Kent); and is not written in the context of the specific locale. Any ideas on encouraging him to act appropriately, gratefully received. Kbthompson 09:52, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of BzzAgent
A tag has been placed on BzzAgent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Notability of Benjamin Kerensa
A tag has been placed on Benjamin Kerensa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. PMDrive1061 (talk) 06:32, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I've deleted the article not on notability grounds, but from concern that it appears to be an unsourced biography that includes allegation of criminal misconduct and prosecution and hence is inconsistent with the biographies of living persons policy. It seems that you may be the individual about whom the biography was written (in which case, please also see our conflict of interest guideline and our guideline on autobiography), but as anyone can register under any name, we can't presume that this is the case. If you wish to post a biography of this person, and you are not him, please use reliable sources to verify all information that may be negative or controversial. If this is you and you believe you meet the notability guidelines, please consider suggesting the article instead at requested articles. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:32, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Your recent A7 tags
I'm declining your recent tags requesting A7 deletion of three notable hackers. Speedy deletion of this type should only be used in cases where it is obvious that no claim of notability is being made. In the articles you tagged, not only is that not obvious, but in at least two of the cases it seems obvious to me that they would pass our notability requirements and a full deletion discussion. Nevertheless, you are welcome to attempt to AfD them if you think that would lead to a constructive outcome. —David Eppstein (talk) 07:18, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Just so you know what's going on with your own userpage...
Dunno if you noticed, but for a brief time, your userpage was deleted. An anon had posted a story about someone with your name (specifically alluding to it being you) being charged with making false bomb threats.
Dunno if this was you or not... irrelevant, in my opinion. I deleted the edit entirely, though, as it smacked of harassment. Just letting you know. EVula // talk // ☯ // 18:24, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
