[edit] Human Host?

The last sentence of this article is mysterious. Someone should explain exactly what it means for Bill to have a human host. (Mumblingmynah (talk • contribs))

It's actually outright wrong. It's an Iraq War (2004) vet, not a Vietnam vet. And basically it means exactly the same for him as Thor's Don Blake and Jake Olsen IDs.
And several of your simplifications introduced inaccuracies - e.g. Galactus wasn't "in disguise", every race sees him differently, and it's just humans who see him as a big guy in blue & purple armour. - SoM 01:42, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
Point taken: "in disguise" is inaccurate. But I was only trying to reduce an overly complex description to the essentials. Please keep my edits in mind when you go over it again.--Mumblingmynah 02:30, 21 August 2005 (UTC)

My understanding was that the human host had died before Beta Ray Bill took his place. That is, Beta Ray Bill is the personality regardless of the form he takes which is different than the Thor/Donald Blake situation. User:Lochdale

It's all tied to the ideas presented in the Thor: Disassembled "Ragnarok" story. Life's purpose is to die, so that more life can be created. As Bill, in his "old" body, dies, so does Simon, the war veteran. The robed entity transfers Bill's consciousness into Simon's body. Death leads to new life, but whether the real Simon still exists within his body is a matter that's not covered in this story. CNash 22:27, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Powers & Abilities

I maintain my position in keeping that information regarding Beta Ray Bill's powers & abilities present, so as to present to people the information without them having to refer to Thor. As a major character and a powerhouse of Marvel Comics in his own right,I place that info there to allow people to understand how powerful he is in comparison to Thor.

As of 12/10/2007, I updated the powers & abilities yet again, this time with solid citations, unless the person who makes the edits can please give me a convincing argument as to why such mentions should not be made.I am simply consolidating information at a single source, so that readers perusing this article have a better understanding of this character, and his place in comparison to the character of Thor.

[edit] Comma overuse?

I read over the Ragnarok section and noticed that there seem to be an overly abundant use of commas, some not necessarily needed. I could be mistaken but I think it might bear some checking by someone more informed with the guidelines of their use in accordance to grammatical style. 4.225.18.145 08:01, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

and that he had never dreamed that any other would be worthy enough to pick up the hammer, leaving a terrible dilemma.

This contradicts the other article which says a few other have previously lifted the hammer (Gnevin 12:03, 7 February 2007 (UTC))
