This is a direct rip from Sky Sports. Hardly enclyopedic and breaks copyright as well Steve-Ho 22:02, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

it's been sourced. it's only a temporary measure. until i can find ben sahar's profile.

[edit] Rewrite

I've rewritten this so it isn't a complete (albeit sourced) rip from Sky Sports, leaving one quote on his potential as reported by Sky Sports. I've also added new information on his passport, which explains why he can play in the UK without a work permit. I've also removed the link to the current Chelsea squad, as he will play for the Youth Team for now and removed categories of current premiership player, until he plays in the Premiership. thanks man.

Ben Sahar was Born, Rise, and lived all of his life in israel. he has this polish pasport only because he want to play in england as a European player and not as a Outside Europe playr (there's a limit to 5 non-european players in a squad). another fact is that Ben Sahar is playing in the Israeli Youth International team & the premier International team so he isnt able to play in the Polish Team ever (according to FIFA rules). thats way i erase the 'Polish' player.RunX 16:14, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sky Sports blooper?

Do sky sports get their research from here, because after the false things some people posted about Ben Sahar making his U-21 debut at 12 and playing for Israel aged 14, I think some of it was read out by sky sports on sky sports news as fact! i've emailed sky sports to find out if this was so. if so, how embarassing.

[edit] Israeli-Polish

We should name his as an Israeli-Polish person. Because his mother is Polish, he is a Polish citizen (for that he needed some knwoledge about Polish culture, history and speak Polish, not only had a Polish mother). He's working in the UK as a Pole (yes, for have a right to free work in EU, but he uses Polish passport). He's an Israeli-Polish person... Kowalmistrz 10:55, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

  • I disagree, the rules for Jews to obtain Polish citizenship based on ancestry are very lax and he did in no way had to pass a test. I will post a link to the rules that I received from the Polish embassy in Tel Aviv. NYC2TLV 07:33, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Well, it's absolutely clear for me, that if he's of POLISH-Jewish descant (where did you find, that his mother is a Polish Jew, not Polish at all? anyway- she's a Pole), we can name his as an Israeli-Polish person... I am of German, Jewish and Polish noble origin also, but it's just a religion or ethnic origins (in Szlachta social). I want it or don't- I AM A POLE and my children, anywhere they'll be born and live, will be Polish-American, German-Polish, Israeli Polish, anything. Kowalmistrz 14:21, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Not only that Ben Sahar mother, Batya, is totaly Jewish (and even subjectivly she dont consider her self for being any thing other than a Jewish women)Ben Sahar himself identified himself, when asked by the British Jewish chronicle, as a Jewish, beliving the Jewish faith, which is willing to married only a Jewish girl.--Gilisa 18:36, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

why you arguing with this guy ? Ben Sahar is ISRAELI citizen, ISRAELI footballer, ISRAELI person. he didn't visit Poland and he don't know Polish. so... RunX 02:05, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

But he is of Polish (Polis-Jewish, doesn't matter) origin! HE IS A POLISH CITIZEN. He had rights to receive Polish passport as a son of Polish citizen, Polish person of Jewish origin or faith... He said to the chronicle (any source?) he is Jewish, yes ofcourse! But Jewish doesn't = Israeli only... Kowalmistrz 10:40, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
