For participants to be able to follow changes to pages and sub-pages of the project, please add Category:WikiProject Sheffield Wednesday to any page of the project you create. To follow all changes to the pages, see the related changes of the above mentioned category. This will work as a sort of watchlist for pages related to the project.

This WikiProject aims primarily to establish and organise standards for articles relating to Sheffield Wednesday F.C., including current and former players, managers and staff. This will hopefully result in well-structured and well-written articles, and possibly also in featured articles, and also make all such articles easy to find.

• Sheffield Wednesday F.C. Promoted to FA status on 16 September 2006.

Historic today's featured articles 17 January 2007 Sheffield Wednesday F.C. is one of the oldest football clubs in England; this season they play in the Football League. Based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, Sheffield Wednesday's chief rivals are Sheffield United F.C. with whom they play in the Steel City Derby. As of 2006, The Owls have won four league titles, three FA Cups and one League Cup, but their League Cup triumph (secured in 1991) is their only major trophy since World War II. They did reach both domestic cup finals in 1993, but lost 2-1 to Arsenal each time. Sheffield Wednesday currently play in the Football League Championship. Home games are played at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield, which had staged numerous FA Cup semi-finals prior to the 1989 Hillsborough disaster which claimed the lives of 96 Liverpool fans.
