The Tennessee Valley Authority's Bellefonte nuclear power plant is located in Hollywood, Alabama.

The two pressurized water reactors on the site were made by Babcock and Wilcox. They are unfinished and were mothballed in 1988 after a $6 billion investment.

On September 22, 2005 it was announced that Bellefonte had been selected as the site for one or two AP1000 pressurized water reactors. TVA filed the necessary applications[1] to begin the design and construction process in November 2007. For details, see Nuclear Power 2010 Program.
