The Bank of China Building is a development consisting of two skyscrapers located in the central business district of Singapore. It is located on 4 Battery Road, just next to 6 Battery Road, Maybank Tower,[1] and roughly 100 metres from the Fullerton Hotel[2]. It houses the Bank of China.

[edit] Bank of China Building (Old Block)

The old block of the Bank of China Building was constructed in 1954, and was one of the tallest skyscrapers in Singapore at that time. It is currently one of Singapore's oldest skyscrapers. The block has a total of 18 floors. It was designed by P & T Architects & Engineers Ltd.[3] The block was the tallest building in the central business district of Singapore, Raffles Place from 1954 till 1974, when it was overtaken by UOB Plaza Two.[4]

The new block of the Bank of China Building rises 36 floors above ground, at a height of 168 metres.[5] It was built immediately adjacent to the old block and shares a common podium, with the extension completed in 2000.[6]
