Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Anti-Hungarian sentiment

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As a Hungarian, I am proud to see the result of the vote: there is no anti-Hungarian sentiment at all, everybody loves us. I wonder if there are userboxes like "I love Hungary" or "I love Hungarians", if not, these should be created urgently for every editor who would like to express their feelings towards us :-)
People, this is a great feeling, I hope our Romanian and Serbian friends will soon follow our example. :-) --KIDB 06:08, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Delete

It is very interesting, only the anti-hungarian sentiment article has been deleted, although most of the voters (8 of them), who said to delete the article (14 delete votes) agreed to the deletion only, if the other articles go too.Baxter9 20:09, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Huh?

Only the anti-Hungarian sentiment article got deleted? Geez, was it really THAT much worse than all the other weird little anti-X articles? Or maybe like KIDB suggested, there is just so little anti-Hungarian prejudice in the world today that we just don't need an article about it anymore....right. I would suggest perhaps opening a deletion review, if for no other reason then to find out why our article got deleted and everyone elses' got left alone. It's a bit strange, not to mention unsettling...K. Lásztocska 04:05, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes, I agree its ridiculous.Baxter9 07:05, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
The problem is that some editors voted here, but not on other pages. It is really unfortunate and I really hope those articles will be nominated again. Tankred 18:08, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
As I said, I am against the deletion of the anti x articles. Check this comment (the last one).Baxter9 12:08, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Several of the other AfDs are still running. Only the Romanian and the Serbian articles got closed as "no consensus". The Serbian one had been radically shortened down in the meantime and really bears little resemblance to the other anti-X articles now. I can live with that one. The Romanian one is still pretty bad, in my opinion. Fut.Perf. 20:36, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Another three of them are now deleted, so it's no more "only us". Hopefully the rest will go too sooner or later – these articles (including the Hungarian one) really have (or had) very little encyclopedic merit. Even if only this one had been deleted in the end, it would have been a good riddance. KissL 09:47, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

The content of the article may have been weak but that's no reason for deletion, it's only reason for improvement. The topic is important and we are free to recreate the article as the closer said. Content however should be much improved for such recreation it can be worked out in a sandbox or similar first and taken live second. Hobartimus 21:16, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

I think it is better to improve other, more important articles like Slovakization and Romanization. Graffities and other unimportant newspaper events should rather fell into oblivion. Zello 21:45, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
