Streets of Rage 2 are currently the champs of NBHC(New Bedford Hardcore, the most prestigious of all chapters of hardcore). It has been rumored that Mayor Scott Lang has given them "the key to the city". They revitalized a starving scene with such anthems such as "Intro" and "Hardcore Hussy", that will stand the test of time.

Kelita Sinclair is a Med Student at Wayne State University. She was previously a player on their women's volleyball team and received many honours. She came to Wayne State on a full scholarship after graduating from the BCC program at Turner Fenton HS while playing on their volleyball team. Mobile17 is a website created by Ben Guild (also known by the nickname "smash") that has enabled users to create mobile-content (such as ringtones and graphics) at no-charge. When initially launched in 2005, it sported the name "SmashTheTones"; but after being featured on the now defunct TechTV's "The Screen Savers" and reviewed in Sarah Lane's 'Damn Good Download' weekly segment, (video-clip on YouTube) the site was revamped and the project's name matured from "SmashTheTones" to "Mobile17".

To this day the site thrives on the demand for user-generated cellphone content, and has been praised in publications such as Popular Science and Men's Health magazines, as well as The Boston Globe.

House of Boys is a glamorous, colourful coming-of-age story that follows the dramatic journey of Frank, a high school kid in 1984, through an exciting world of sex and new wave music, when his deep new passion is suddenly turned into a struggle for courage, facing the rise of the AIDS epidemic.

The Oriental Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is a research institution specialising in the field of Oriental and African Studies. The Institute collaborates with Czech universities providing teaching of relevant subjects, training junior researchers and taking part in post-graduate doctoral programmes. The Institute provides information services, and works actively with the mass media. The Oriental Institute of Prague was founded under the Act No. 27/1922 passed by the Czechoslovak parliament on January 25, 1922. According to the act, the aim of the Institute was “to cultivate and build up scientific and economic relations with the Orient”. The establishment of the Institute was supported by the first Czechoslovak President T. G. Masaryk, who gave it both moral and financial backing. Rollcage is an arcade-style racing game for Windows and PlayStation, developed by Attention to Detail, and published by Psygnosis. The Windows version was released in the UK on March 24, 1999. The game's selling point was its unique physics engine, in which cars could drive on walls or ceilings because of the airflow passing over them at extreme speeds. The game also featured an original soundtrack by Fatboy Slim. A sequel named Rollcage Stage II was released in 2000 for Windows and Playstation. The sequel includes 20 vehicles and a lot more tracks than the first game, and it's more accessible to novice players. There is also a training mode, a combat mode and multiplayer (up to 4 players split screen or more players on the internet or LAN). The latest game for the series is called RollcageX or RCX. It is a fan made clone, which is still in development and should be mainly multiplayer online.

The cars are all double sided so, they can be driven on either side. This is done by having the tires of the car larger than the body. The cars can not be destroyed in the game.

This was the first game, it came before Rollcage Stage II. It contained 6 cars and drivers, which were; Tony, Lothar, Ria, Jet, Leon and Lenny. When the game was completed in the "Easy" mode the player unlocked the "Hard" mode and a mysterious 7^th driver challenged the player. When the game was completed in "Hard" mode the new driver was unlocked. The new driver's name is "Yuri" and he is a Policeman. He arguably has the best statistics in the game, as he has the highest; speed, grip and acceleration from all the rest of the cars. His only weak area is strength, where he comes 2^nd compared to the other cars. The modes are: League, Arcade, Time attack and Multiplayer.

There are 4 main "Worlds" in Rollcage; Neoto City, Harpoon Islands, Saphire Springs and Outworld, where the racing takes place.

Neoto City is largely based on a city in Japan, and this can be seen especially in the logo, as it is in the shape of Japan's Flag. Harpoon Island are a series islands, Saphire Springs is an icy, snowy place, where it seems oil is being drilled. Finally, Outworld is a mining place, and it is loosely based in a desert.

All of the races are held in each of these 4 worlds.

[edit] Weapons and Power-ups

There are many weapons and power-ups in the game, and they are an integral part of the game. If used carefully, weapons and power-ups can help a lot during racing. There are 2 slots for weapons in the game so at any one time, the player can have 2 weapons, and they can be the same type.

Homing Missile - This a missile, when fired will make its way to the leader of the race and will blow him up into the air. The car and driver will not die or get damaged, as the cars cannot actually be destroyed by any means. The missile has a green tinge to it when it is traveling. When hit the car will go up in the air.

Worm Hole - This is opens a worm hole in front of your car and when fired makes its way to the person directly in front of you, position wise. i.e. if you are 5^th it will make its way to 4^th. After that, it will teleport that car behind the car that cast the attack.

Standard Single Missile - This missile will fire and destroy anything that is targeted. Players can target other cars and thus this missile acts like a Homing Missile only that it will target any car, not first place only. This missile has a gold tinge to it when traveling, to distinguish it from the Homing Missile. When hit the car will be blown up into the air. This missile can also be used to destroy buildings, signs and other structures.

Shield - This shield is the only thing that can protect you from any type of attack. It goes around the car. It depletes when it has been hit a lot or when a missile (of any sort) hits it.

Speed Boost - This gives the player a sudden burst of speed, causing the turbine exhausts of the car to turn gold (presumably because of the extra fuel/boost), when the Boost is wearing down, the exhausts turn white and finally back to the normal colour. This power-up can be used at the same time, but only if both slots are Speed Boosts. When this happens, the speed is doubled compared to that of a normal Speed Boost.

Ice Beam - This weapon looks like two lightning bolts coming out of the car. It basically causes cars around it to "freeze up" and affect their traction a lot, causing them to understeer or oversteer depending on the angle and speed of the car.

Driller Missile - This weapon shoots out three missiles in a straight line, and will carry on going until it hits something solid, i.e., anything apart from another car, so it is possible to hit more than 1 car with this attack. When hit the car will be blown up in the air as per norm.

Continuum Warper - This weapon slows down every car in the game, apart from the attacking car. The weapon lasts longer the further down in position you are. That is, if the player was 6 ^th, it will last longer than if the player was 1^st.

As the player completes leagues, they will unlock certain tracks, and bonus bits. The bonus bits are multiplayer death matches where the only weapon is the Driller Missile and the only power-up is the Speed Boost. This is the only time in the game where the cars can be destroyed, but when destroyed, they are re-spawned.

Baroque is a February 2008 videogame published by Atlus for the Wii and PlayStation 2. It was announced on December 12, 2007. The game is set after 2032 following a cataclysm known as the "Blaze." The story follows an as of yet unnamed protagonist with amnesia bearing "guilt for a sin he doesn't remember committing" on a mission to save the world.

Anne Rosemary Smith was middle ditance runner and Olympic athelete. She represented Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic games, reaching the final in the 800m (women were not permitted to run any ditance longer than 1500m at this time). She finished the final in 8th position in a very fast race, 4 seconds behind team-mate Anne Packer, who won the gold medal and recorded a world record time of 2:01.1.

Mysore Sadashiva Rao was one of the most important composers and followers of musical traditions of Sri Tyagaraja. A prominent vocalist of the Mysore court, he can be credied as the pioneer of Mysore Bani.

Sadashiva Rao was born to Ganesha Rao and Krishna Bai at Girampet near Chittoor in North Arcot. They were Marathi Smartha Deshasthas. He had his musical training under Venkataramana Bhagavatar, a pupil of Thyagaraja. Two of his patrons, brought him to Mysore and introduced him to Sri Krishnaraja Wadayar III, the Mysore king at the time. Impressed by his singing, he was made a court musician.

Sadashiva Rao was also a great teacher. His disciples like Veena Sheshanna and Veena Subbanna later became legendary musicians. Sadashiva Rao has composed mostly in Telugu. He went on a pilgrimage of south India and composed krithi-s at all the temples he visited. He also composed a krithi for Thyagaraja and sung it when he visited Walajapet.

Hermann Nattkämper (October 4, 1911 - April 2, 2005) was a German football player and was as a player of the FC Schalke 04 German champions in 1934 and 1935.

Born in Gladbeck, he became member of a local football club in 1925 when he was 14. Being criticized because of a missed penalty, he left his club and joined the FC Schalke 04 in 1930. Eventually he left the FC Schalke 04 in 1936 after 74 games and 27 goals. During the Second World War he got into Russian war captivity, in which he started playing football again. He was the last living member of the legendary ´Schalker Kreisel´, a special tactic in football.

Opie Classic is a famous (infamous??) tournament held in Washington DC every year. What started as a laidback backyard flip-cup party with some friends is now a couple hundred-person party that is officially sponsored by Miller or Bud light with proceeds going to some charity and is held in Foggy Bottom/Georgetown area every fall. “War Walks” was a BBC documentary series presented by historian, Professor Richard Holmes. The series was about several famous European battles. It included descriptions of the battles, the events leading up to them and the events resulting from them.

The first series included the following battles that occurred in northern France:

Network Systems Corporation (NSC) was a spin-off of Control Data Corporation (CDC) which was an early maker of high-performance, local area network (LAN) hardware called Hyperchannel(tm). Hyperchannel had a 50 MHz carrier frequency and was limited to a range of approximately 5,000 ft. NSC was based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Consequently the NSC customer base started with customers of CDC and Cray Research hardware. Packet size dependent upon the amount of memory provided for memory buffers in Hyperchannel adapters.

The comparative expense, about $40,000 per adapter, contrasted with emerging slower, less expensive LAN options such as Xerox Ethernet and the IBM Token ring.

A social community that enables people to define any thing/concept according to their own meanings. For example let "bus" would be our concept, I may define it as "the place where I fell in love to my ex girlfriend" or another person may define "bus" as "the boring place while going to schools every morning" or "the most polluting item in our city instead of which I wish we used more green friendly vehicles". This is published in Turkish, but there are some english concepts of course. They also added a small application called "define everything" into facebook.

About this community in one of the biggest newspapers of Turkey: Zaman, it is stated that -for people do not understand Turkish, I make a small translation - :

"...Having lots of self descriptive dictionaries like [www.uludagsozluk.com] enables people to improve their mental, linguistic ,literatural abilities. Since they widen their range of understanding and imagination... "

Christ Lutheran School is a private christian school that is established in Cape Coral, Florida. Christ Lutheran Church was first established when Cape Coral was just being built. Within recent years Christ Lutheran School has been increasing dramatically in size which lead to expantion projects including the newest edition of a two story building located directly across from the church. Since Christ Lutheran School was first founded the Elementary has been very organized, however the school board and staff members have come under fire due a disruptive Middle School.

RRC is a small rual town school that should be heard about. It has a rating in the top 10 schools for our educating system. We have a meidium leveled disapliend level and high learning one. If you want good education come to Red Rocke Central.

The Belleville Transit Riders Association was formed on Tuesday December 11, 2007. This organization is to better aide the riders of Belleville Transit in their struggle to get better Transit service in Belleville, Ontario. The organization was formed by Matt Turner, and currently has 11 members. The association is hoping to grow and be a better service to the Transit riders of Belleville. Fear Appeals

Fear appeals are uniquely different from the rhetorical strategy of appeal to fear.There has been nearly 50 years of research on fear appeals in various disciplines and these studies have collectively garnered mixed results.

Fear appeals are persuasive messages designed to scare or frighten people into complying with a particular message by describing the awful and terrible things that will happen to them if they do not act in accordance with the message (Witte, 1992). Fear itself can best be understood as a negatively-valenced emotion accompanied by a high level of arousal that is perceived to be both significant and personally relevant (Easterlinger & Leventhal, 1989; Ortony & Turner, 1990; Witte, 1992; Witte, 1998

Early fear appeal research focused on drive theories or drive models to explain the role fear plays in motivation, persuasion, and attitude change. For example, the fear-as-acquired drive model (Hovland, Janis, & Kelly, 1953), family of curves (Janis 1967), and nonmonotonic models (McGuire, 1968; 1969) suggest that fear drives action. In other words, the amount or level of fear generated by a fear appeal motivates action. These theories argued that fear could motivate by eliciting enough drive state; however, too much fear would result in avoidance responses. These models predicted that just enough fear would be persuasive by motivating a drive state in the receiver of the message; thus, drive theories rely on an inverted U-shape relationship between fear and motivation for attitude change. However, an overall lack of support for the inverted U-shaped model has lead to many of these theories being dismissed (Witte, 2000).

[edit] Parallel Response Model

The parallel response model suggests that fear appeals generate two separate processes, danger control and fear control. Danger control processes involve attempts to control the danger or threat while fear control processes involve attempts to control one’s own fear generated by the danger or threat. When people are motivated to control the danger, they typically think about the fear appeal and think of ways to remove or lessen the threat. Typically, they think carefully about the recommended responses advocated in the persuasive message and attempt to adopt those as a means to control the danger. On the other hand, when people are motivated to control their fear, they no longer think about the fear appeal or danger of the threat; instead, they focus on how frightened they feel and they attempt to get rid of their fear through denial, defensive avoidance, or reactance (see psychological reactance).

Most notably, Witte’s Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM) (see social influence), which traces its lineage through the classic fear appeal theories, attempts to explain both when and why fear appeals work, as well as when and why they fail (Witte, 2000). According to EPPM, if the threat is perceived as irrelevant or insignificant then there is little motivation to process the message further. Conversely, when the threat is perceived or believed to be serious and relevant, individuals become afraid and are motivated to act in order to reduce their fear.

Thus, EPPM suggests that in some cases fear arousing messages can lead to danger control processes, which in turn, generate adaptive potentially life-saving actions. However, in others cases fear arousing messages can lead to fear controlling processes which can lead to maladaptive and potentially life-threatening. Lastly, EPPM argues that self-efficacy plays a role in the type of control process we choose. Specifically, EPPM suggests that we must be self-efficacious in order maximize our danger controlling processes in response to fear arousing messages.
