The world reknown Modesto Symphony Orchestra sponsors a contest known as The Young Idol Contest. The winner receives various prizes and a chance to record his/her own CD and a solo performance with the union orchestra.

To enter, you must be a legal U.S. citizen and under eighteen years of age by the end of the year, which you are contestant.

You are ineligable if you have any type of contract for talent representation by the date of your audition, a music recording/acting contract, a merchandisal agreement, or any other contractual arrangement. Each contestant must be available for auditions, recordings, rehearsal, meetings and performances. The entire contest takes about eight weeks, and once the final ten are chosen from the competition, it is up to to America to choose who gets cat off each week.

This contest began in 2004, when Houghson, California soprano, Caroline Chiesa was crowned the first-ever Young Idol. The contest continued in the year 2005, and the excitement strive throughout the entire competion. Voters excitedly logged on to modbee.com/youngidol to cast their votes. However, the contest took a year-long hiatus, as the presitigous symphony was making a transition between director Darryl One, who handed his job over to the fabulous Steven Reineke. In 2007 the competition was back on. This was the first year that the title of Young Idol was received by a male, as Colton Pometta took the title with much honor. Pometta was given the chance to perform with the symphony at the state of the art performance venue, The Gallo Center.

The symphony plans on continuing this proud tradition in future years. Who will be the next Young Idol?

HISTORY: The NH Avalanche was founded in March 2001 to provide a hockey development program with important advantages compared to traditional travel hockey organizations. The Avalanche is a non-profit corporation sharing common control with the Ice Den Arena in Hooksett, NH. As a result, the Avalanche enjoys access to the most desirable, prime-time hours at one of the cleanest, brightest, and most attractively laid out hockey facilities in New England. Our philosophy is simple: to provide excellent instruction and development to those youngsters truly interested in making the commitment to travel hockey, and to improvement. At the same time, we try to instill respect for teammates, opponents, and officials the virtue of old-fashioned sportsmanship that includes graciousness in both victory or defeat. We also ask parents to reinforce these lessons with their own behavior at the rink! Just as importantly, we strive to provide a positive and friendly environment so that hockey remains fun, and kids develop a love for the game, as well as athletic skill. Maxim Allen is a Male model for the Suzan Johnston modelling company in Melbourne, Australia. Originally from Drouin in country victoria Maxim's first love was for football and cricket. He attended Haileybury College in his primary years and this is when he realised he had an interest in fashion, when he would insist on wearing is blazer. He eventually left Haileybury and went to St.Pauls AGS from 2003 till 2006 he was spotted by the modelling agency when on work experience for a markeitn firm in Melbourne, because of his atheltric build and delicate face he was a perfect subject to be a teenage model. The Nonstop Clan was created on November 13, 2002 by Drummer_nonstop and Breakdance_nonstop. Nonstop is a Yahoo! Towers based clan; they are currently one of the longest-running active clans in this game.

Nonstop differs from the mold of a typical clan in several ways, one of the biggest being that they are primarily a friendship-based clan. This means that the clan is not very concerned with how the overall clan "skill" stacks up against other clans. However, Nonstop members can and do help each other improve each other's abilities. Apart from occasional informal clan practices, Nonstop holds semi-regular clan "events" during which the members compete against each other in a fun yet competitive atmosphere. The clan welcomes war challenges from other clans so long as it is assured that a level of respect and sportsmanship will be held during the competition.

Nonstop is constantly recruiting new members of all ability levels. However the clan implements a "trial process" rather than the traditional tryout system held by other clans. Also, they require their members to play for Nonstop exclusively and no other clan.

Zigzag Velvet Gecko

Oedura rombifer also known as the Zigzag Velvet Gecko is extremely rare, especially in NSW. They are so rare there have been only 2 specimens found in New South Wales, Australia.

Description

The Zigzag Velvet Gecko is dark or brown on the sides and pale on the underside. It has a lite zigzagged strip down its back and on its tail. The strip is only present when it’s the original tail and not regrown.

Habitat

The gecko usually lives under the bark of decorticating trees. It can also be found in the gaps of bricks and in small, tight areas.

Threats

The threats to this gecko are: - Habitat loss due to logging and bush fires - Feral animals which predate on the gecko such as cats and foxes. - And also the populations of the geckos are isolated, therefore there is a lack of genetic variability.

Christ Lutheran Church is a congregation in the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church and is part of the West Godavari Synod. It is located in Churchpeta, Narsapur, West Godavari, India. The current pastor is John Victor Medidi.It is a major A class Parish in the synod. The church is also a mother church for several smaller congregations in and around the town of Narsapur.

A.S.P. was brought to life in the year 1998. In the beginning, individual band members often came and went, until the perfect formation was found during the recording of their 2002 demo-Album “Crimson Vibes”. Shortly after, the new group started paying their dues in their first concerts together. Thus requests from various events started to be received. Only just a small inconspicuous band, they started to mutate into a local insider tip.

Their musical spectrum encompasses Funk and Metal, Reggae and classical Guitar riffs, in short: Crossover. A.S.P. treat their fans to energetic live-performances and forceful compositions. The songs for their new album started to take shape during rehearsals and live-performances, until they withdrew into a studio, in the summer of 2006, to record their debut-album. A.S.P has a successful CD-release-party with Dry Kill Logic (USA) at the end of 2006. The guys of A.S.P a have played with masters of metal like: DKL (USA), Underschool Element (CH), PX Pain, Sybreed, Ophidian (I) and Spinal Cord Concussion (D).

Silvio Spotti was born in São Paulo, where he still lives and works. He has a degree in arts from the FMU/FAAM university. He began his career in 1992 as a penciller for the small press in Brazil. In 1996 started working as an inker, working on a Brazilian version of the 'Street Fighter' comic book. Silvio has an Angelo Agostini award for best inker in 2002.

In 2003 he began working for the USA market inking a 3 issue mini series for IDW, 'Wynonna Earp'. Since then, he has inked several issues of 'Stargate SG1', 'Robocop', and 'Stargate Atlantis' for Avatar press, as well as 'Daniel Prophet of Dreams' for Alias comics,Cowboys & Aliens for Platinum and Teen Titans for DC comics. Born at 3:30am on 8th of June 1988, Ewan David Kerr was born in Bellshill Marternity Hospital. Both mother and father were proud. Ewan grew up in Motherwell (just outside Glasgow, Scotland) and attended Knowetop Primary and later, Dalziel High School where he met alot of people and had a wonderful time. At the age of 18, Ewan moved to the West End of Glasgow. He enjoys life away from Motherwell as he has met new people and visited many places. Vadim Valentinovich Zagladin (June 23, 1927 - November 17, 2006) was a Soviet politician and ideologist.

He graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and taught there from 1949 to 1956. From 1964 to 1988, he was First Deputy Secretary of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, assisting Secretaries Boris Ponomarev and Anatoly Dobrynin. From 1988 to 1991, he was a close advisor to Mikhail Gorbachev regarding perestroika and glasnost, and continued his senior advisory role within the Gorbachev Foundation until his death. He was also Vice-President of the Association for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation (AEAC), promoting links between Russia and NATO.

He authored many books on international relations.

Electric Arc Radio is a radio show performed in front of a live audience. It is a fictional show about the lives and times four hapless writers who share a house together in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and involves many side characters, who are mostly the people living on their block (the Russian Inventor Bushmanov, the liquor store clerk, Alan Greenspan, Mohammad the paperboy to name a few). Each show lasts about one hour and features a musical guest, that is usually weaved into the story somehow. Past musical guests have included the Owls, The New Standards, Little Man, Chris Koza, Walker Kong. On his campaign tour, Al Franken joined the season finale show for the group's final show at the Ritz Theater in Northeast Minneapolis in 2007. Electric Arc Radio began after a reading group called Lit6 did a reading at Creative Electric Studios in the Spring of 2005. The writers began a collaboration with the art collective of Creative Electric Studios on the creation of a new radio show, which they tested on an audience of a few of their friends and followers. Soon thereafter, the show began to fill up the gallery space was moved into the Ritz Theater in Northeast Minneapolis where they sold out every show in 2007.

Jo-Carol Block (later Jo-Carol Davidson) was born May 13th, 1956, died June 4th 2003 from a cerebral aneurysm). She was one of The Patrick Cowley Singers, together with Carol McMacken and Lauren Carter. She sung most of the lead single vocals and backing-vocals for many records released by disco-pioneer Patrick Cowley, as well as for Sylvester. Jo-Carol, Lauren Carter and Carol McMacken were singing in a six person jazz acapella group called Acapella Gold together with 3 male vocalists. Patrick Cowley found a special liking of her voice after being introduced to her by Michael Finden, who was both singing in Acapella Gold and a good friend of Cowley.

  Greek theaters were usually built on hills, out of limestone, and every town had one!

They were built amazingly well by prominent architects and engineers! Most of them stand to this very day! Theaters were built in the shape of a semi-circle since that shape was convenient for sound projection!

About Skandagiri: Skandagri is approx 65km from Bangalore city on Tukur-Bangalore Highway, close by to Nandi Hills and Chikbalapur. Located at an altitude of 1750 mts, it’s every adventurer’s paradise with beautiful Night Trek, Altitude Camping, stunning Sunrise, serene and Swimming Clouds.

How to reach Skandagiri ?

To reach here you need to take Hyderabad highway from Bangalore. Reach Yelahanka (via Majestic -Sanky Tank- Mekhri circle - Hebbal or via outer ring road to Hebbal), proceed towards Hyderabad, travel some 40 kms (from Yelahanka) and you will reach Chikballapur town. From here you need to take a left turn to reach Papagni Math.  There's motorable road till Papagni Math, which is at the bottom of the Karavarahalli betta. You can park your vehicle here. Its is around 70-80 kms from Majestic- So two hour would be ideal travel time from Bangalore city.

Ever since I about our bike ride & trek to Skandagiri (aka Kalavaarahalli betta), I'm getting lot of mails asking for more details, authenticity of those cloud view. A sFew people even called me to get info on the place. Reason for all this is a set of beautiful photos of Skandagiri & owner of them unknown! And two days ago I got a comment from Pramod saying those were his photos. Via mails, I collected more information about the place from him.

More details:

   Best time to visit: November to January - Pramod captured these clouds during his visit in mid-Jan. Pre-monsoon will be foggy.

   Trek time: 2 to 3 hours to reach the peak during daytime. A very nice place for moon-light trek.

   Distance from Bangalore: 75 KMs

   Route: Bangalore - Hebbal Flyover - Devanahalli - Chikkaballapur - Skandagiri. Take a left turn inside the city, follow the narrow road to reach Papagni Matt which is at the foot of Skandagiri.

The Cambodian monkey lives in its natural habitat in the Cambodian rainforest. It is very sociable with humans and eats a diet mainly consisting of pizza, paninis and joyjoy. Due to its rare skin condition they carry a pink umbrella with them at all times.

Ice planet is a new science fiction drama series planned to be aired in 2008 There will also be a tightly integrated game to accompany the TV show.

Rear Admiral Noah Trager (Michael Ironside) leads an international team of military and scientific personnel in the recovery of an ancient alien artifact. This sentient alien structure seems to draw on the memories of its human explorers as it grows.

Trager, who dotes on his 10-year-old daughter, must also contend with another mystery in his life --the unsolved murder of his wife. This is his obsession.

As they explore the Artifact, Earth is devastated by a massive asteroid strike. At that very moment, the Artifact rips Trager and his crew through space-time to a mysterious Ice Planet at the edge of an ancient galaxy. Their only shelter is the damaged alien vessel.

The survivors soon discover they have been dropped into the midst of an ancient alien war. They must now face a journey of evolution and self-discovery in order to fulfill their destinies.

The battle often plays out as personal challenges that originate from the pasts of the survivors themselves.
