Conceived by writer Chuck Turbane and artist Mel Vance during the Great Depression, Daniel Conrad took comic-strip readers by storm. The character started out as Danny Conrad: Newspaperman, a ten-year old newspaper salesman who went on adventures and solved crimes. Typical adventures had Danny fighting the evils of not smoking, rescuing a group of puppies that were accidentally shipped overseas, and of course, saving his city from the nefarious Dr. Scientist. Two years after the comic's debut, Turbane and Vance introduced the character of Arlene Twogood. Arlene became more popular than Danny and even garnered her own radio program.

As the United States entered World War II, the comic's popularity declined. The publisher countered this by raising Danny's age to 18 and changing the title from Danny Conrad: Newspaperman into Daniel Conrad: Nazi-Puncher. The revamped comic strip even included a guest appearance by fellow comics character and hero: Captain America. Arlene also joined the war effort by helping to design the B-29 Superfortress. Following the war, Daniel Conrad went on to spy operations against the USSR.

The 1960's brought with it a time of tumult and civil unrest. As always, Daniel Conrad changed with the times. The character re-entered the Army and shipped off to Vietnam and Arlene became an anti-war activist. The stories were much darker in tone than their WWII counterparts, and catered to an older audience. The artists and writers tried to highlight the horror and violence of war. Unfortunately, the audience for comics was made almost entirely of war supporters and readership dropped down to almost nothing. In May 1969, the character of Daniel Conrad went MIA and the comic strip ended after over thirty years in print.

In recent years, Daniel Conrad has had a kind of resurgence in popularity. Several limited edition reprints and other merchandise tie-ins have been released. Internet rumors have also reported that Universal is producing a film version of the original comic strip Danny Conrad: Newspaperman with Samuel L. Jackson in the title role.

Bari Savannah was born in North Philadelphia at Temple University Hospital on January 26 1990. He grew up in Philadelphia until he reached the age of about 9, he then moved with his father in Wilmington, Delaware. In his time spent in Delaware he attended the Concord Christian Academy a local baptist academy that focuses on character, living for God, and most importantly academics. When he entered the 6th grade he became a member of the CCA Minutemen basketball team as a JV member. After two Seasons with JV he then moved to Varsity his eighth grade year. In his ninth and tenth grade year he moved on with his career averaging 16 ppg with 5.6 assists and 7.3 rebounds. In his Junior year he transferred to Concord High School where he joined the varsity team and started for a few games. In late January his father passed on and he moved with the Smith family of Wilmington Delaware.

Noel Arnold Levin was a lawyer and expert in labor relations. Born in 1929 in New York City, he attended the Ethical Culture School and Fieldston before matriculating to Williams College. He graduated from Williams College Phi Beta Kappa in 1952 and then from Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal before entering the air force throughout the Korean War.

He became secretary-treasurer of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans in 1974 and was elected president and chairman in 1976. He was also a member of the executive committee of the board of directors of the American Arbitration Association. He was a partner at Chadbourne & Parke, the New York law firm, where he practiced until his death in 1986.

He was an author of a number of books and articles including, Successful Labor Relations, an Employer's Guide, Labor-Management Benefit Funds, and Social Investing for Pension Funds: For Love or Money (1982).

Darryl Taylor has been involved in Production Flight Test since 2002. Darryl James Taylor was born July 23, 1983 in Oakland, CA to Phil and Debbie Taylor. He is the oldest with younger brother Douglas, and younger sister, Katie.

Darryl obtained flight ratings through The Flight Shop, Inc. in Bend, OR. Afterwards in 2004, he was hired as a Flight Instructor at The Flight Shop. He then was hired on as a Test Pilot with Columbia Aircraft Manufacturing in 2005. He conducted over 100 first flights on newly built Columbia 250 and 400 aircraft, surviving many minor and some serious in flight emergencies. His most noted save occured in January 2007 when a single engine Columbia 400 had an engine failure at 25000 feet on its maiden flight. Taylor was able to glide over 30 miles and dead stick a landing into the rural Condon State Airport. Taylor also participated in spin resistance evaluation of the Columbia 350.

In April of 2007 he left Columbia and took a position with Eclipse Aviation flight testing the Eclipse 500.

This woman and her sons drifted from one fly-by-night scam to another and were living in an Inkster, MI hotel when Inkster police arrived July 9, 1987, to serve Alberta Easter, and her sons with a warrant for a $286 bad check.

Easter, 69, protested, insisting the warrant was improper. Officers Clay Hoover, 24, and Daniel Dubiel, 36, called their supervisor, Sgt. Ira Parker. He drove to the Bungalow Motel on Michigan Avenue. Seconds after Parker, 41, entered the motel room, the officers were ambushed and gunfire began. The cops didn't have a chance. Twenty-nine slugs were pumped into the three officers with high-powered assault rifles, including rounds taken from the officer's own weapons.

Then Easter and sons George, 45, Roy, 47, and William Lemons, 43, fired at random out the motel door at Michigan Avenue. A tense 10 hour standoff ended when the family surrendered. All were convicted of first-degree murder and are serving life terms for the slaying of three officers.

The music publishing house of Robert Lienau was originally founded in 1810 by Adolf Martin Schlesinger as “Schlesinger’sche Buch- und Musikhandlung” and sold by his second son, Heinrich, to Robert Emil Lienau (1838-1920) in 1864. Following the brothers Robert Heinrich (1866-1949) and Wilhelm Friedrich (1875-1973), the firm was led since 1947 by the third generation, Dr. Robert Albrecht Lienau (1905-2001) and Miss Rosemarie Lienau (1903-1996). In 1991 the company was sold to Maja-Maria Reis (1929-2000), the owner of Musikverlag Zimmermann, and her daughter Cornelia Grossmann, who now leads the firm.

In 1875, the Viennese firm Carl Haslinger (formerly Tobias) was acquired. This added many works by Beethoven, Liszt, Spohr and Hummel to the catalogue, as well as an enormous number of waltzes, quadrilles and mazurkas by Johann Sr. and Jr., Joseph and Eduard Strauss, Lanner and Ziehrer. Thise additions to the catalogue led to the practical publications known as Edition Schlesinger from 1880 on. It contained Czerny: Piano Etudes edited by Bischoff, Spohr: Violin Etudes edited by Schroeder, the new Loewe edition, and “Opera Renaissance” with forgotten operas by Donizetti, Paer, Berlioz and others. Among the first to accept works by Bruckner, the firm published his Symphony No. 8. Symphony No. 3, the Te Deum, and Four Graduales followed in 1910 with the acquisition of Edition Th. Raettig. The works of Paul Juon, the Chopin Studies by Godowsky and, in 1910, Alban Berg: Piano Sonata, Op. 1 and Four Songs, Op. 2 appeared. Jean Sibelius entrusted his Op. 46 through 57 to the firm (this included his Violin Concerto). Josef Matthias Hauer’s compositions were published from 1923-25. Several other publishing houses were incorporated into the firm during the 1920’s: Otto Wernthal, with many editions of band music; Adolf Koester, with recorder and guitar titles; H.R. Krentzlin with educational music for piano.

Citizens for the Constructive Review of Public Policy (CCRPP) is a political organisation of Christian Democratic inspiration founded in Madison, Wisconsin by seven community and student activists in the early morning hours of 06. May 1990. The organisation was orignally founded to take up the debate about the applicabiliy of ethics to all spheres of human affairs, and the 13-point statement that serves as the founding document of the group mentions several other battles of the day including taking the side of those in favour of the mathematics textbooks of John Saxon, the battle against racism and poverty, and specifically the need for diversification in the political approaches to the latter two issues, e.g. that the Democratic Party should not be able to take the votes of African-American voters for granted. The CCRPP has also been a strongly upper Midwest regionalist organisation since the first moments of its existence.

The CCRPP tends to come down on the US political spectrum in two or more places including the far Left and Old Right and was led into the Democratic Party by its leadership in late 1996 for various local, county, state, national, and international reasons. None the less they ran a last minute write-in campaign in 1998 which garnered an unexpectedly large number of votes in Wisconsin and even a few in Minnesota (the CCRPP-organised electoral coalition endorsed Jesse Ventura for governor but also ran letter-to-the-editor and other media campaigns in several border region media markets including Duluth, the Twin Cities, and Rochester)

The CCRPP adopted the slogan "Unity, Integrity, Hierarchy, Tolerance" on 19. December 1994 in advance of the 1995 non-partisan elections and it has been the official slogan ever since.

The organisation consists of the main CCRPP organisation, a political party and/or Non-Partisan League-type apparatus (currently the NCCL) and the National Codeine OTC Lobby. The forerunners of the CCRPP founded the United Gristle, Spray-Paint, Cardboard & Flammable Liquids Workers labour union in 1988, and all CCRPP enterprises are goverened under a UGSPCFLW collective bargaining agreement first put into force on 11. August 1990.

The CCRPP publishes the Meadowood Economist, now a monthly publication associated with the Daily Meadowood Economist Web & E-Mail List. Founded on 21. May 1990, the Meadowood Economist has been a weekly, biweekly, thrice-weekly, and daily at different times in the past and is distributed by mail well beyond the borders of the South-West Side neighbhourhood which gave the paper its name. The newspaper is well known in relevant circles for its community-first editorial policy, aggressive reporting, and violent muckraking style. Local versions of the Meadowood Economist, which were the full version wrapped in the local nameplate and coverage, were founded in 1995 including the Northside Wednesday Evening Observer and DeForest Post Intelligencer (never hyphenated - referring to the column distributed by the ME wire service "The View From Behind The Post")

The CCRPP acquired the semi-clandestine South-West Madison publication The Cyclone on the third anniversary of its founding on 06. February 1992 and has published it quarterly ever since. The Cyclone tends to be to the right of the Meadowood Economist politically, but their styles are very similar. The thunderbolt-and-circle logo of the CCRPP is an analogy to the tornado symbol of the organisation which originally published The Cyclone.

CCRPP members do not have to pay dues in several allied organisations including the 27. November Spreadsheet Macro Programming Club.

The firm was founded in 1876 by Julius Heinrich Zimmermann (1851-1923) in St. Petersburg. He quickly became the agency for German instrument manufacturers of everything from strings to the organ. He opened a factory for brass instruments himself in 1880, and branches in Moscow, Leipzig, London and Riga followed. A number of important Russian composers published with the firm, as Mily Balakirev, Sergei Lyapunov and Alexander Taneyev. By the turn of the century Zimmermann became the single most important supplier of instruments to the court of the Czar, the Russian army and the nobility.

After World War I the company was nationalized and lost its properties in Russia. His sons August (1877-1952) and Wilhelm (1891-1946) divided the company upon Julius’s death, August taking over the instruments and Wilhelm Zimmermann the publishing interests. Wilhelm became the main publisher of Nikolai Medtner. In the mid-1920s he drew attention with jazz, but after 1933 the Nazis attached the label “degenerate” on his jazz publications. Wilhelm was no Aryan according to the spirit of the law in the Third Reich, but he managed to hold the company together.

His widow, Edith Zimmermann (1900-1975) then became the head of the company. In 1953, she fled the Soviet Zone to Frankfurt/Main, again losing a great portion of its properties. She built up the company again, publishing also Contemporary Music. After Edith’s death, her daughter, Maja-Maria Reis (1929-2000) headed the firm. In 1980, she was elected president of the German Music Publishers Association. Today the firm is owned by her daughter Cornelia Grossmann.

Chang Gedo, born in 1941, was an early Hapkido practitioner and master of the art.

Chang Gedo lived until his early twenties in a mountain monastery near Geumsan in Teague province, learning Hapkido from his father a Buddhist monk. Chang Gedo became formally recognised as a master of Hapkido in 1968. He then opened his school in Korea and called it Wol Ge Kwan which means The Victor's Laurel. One of his notable students was Kim Yun Sang.

In 1973, the Korean Hapkido Association dispatched Master Chang to the United States of America. There he has demonstrated and taught throughout the USA. He finally settled in Lombard, Illinois where he opened his first U.S. School, Chang's Hapkido Academy. Chang’s Hapkido Academy now has schools across America and England.

He was the first to develop Hapkido techniques specifically for police personnel. His teaching abilities so impressed the Korean Government, that they created a special award for Best Martial Arts Instructor, and presented it to Master Chang. Chang Gedo is an 8th degree master of Hapkido and president of the World Hapkido Union; he is also a world renowned speaker on Ki, spirituality and human behaviour.

As you drive about 13 miles north of Durban, the largest city in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, you pass a lush fertile belt where the rich green shades of the sugar cane meet the turquoise of the Indian Ocean. This is where on the 26th November 1983, guitarist and composer Guy Buttery was born and raised in a small coastal town along the North Coast. This is a place of enchantment, freedom, promise and where the creative spirit takes charge. Besides being introduced to music at an early age through his mother who plays the piano and his older brothers who played guitar, the muse naturally took hold of Guy when he was ten. It wasn’t out of peer pressure, but out of the necessity to liberate the creative whirlwind which was ever prevalent during those early years. Just think about it. As rich as the soil for his feet to stand on, you had local Zulu tribesmen, playing their brand of music known as Maskanda on finger-picked oil drum guitars. They were our blues men, or wandering storytellers, which hollered their song into a young Buttery’s heart. Across the valley, the sounds of tabla and sitar could be heard from one of the many Indian Hindu temples bringing a diversity of colour, spirit and enlightenment into such an enquiring mind.

After hearing John Paul Jones’ mandolin on Zeppelin’s, “Battle of Evermore”, Buttery acquired a mandolin, and with the influence of Ravi Shankar being so close to home, purchased a sitar from one of the local Indian music shops. At the age of 13, Buttery was introduced to classical harmony through his first guitar teacher, Leandros Stavrou. The quest for new musical boundaries was inevitable, and through friend, guitar teacher and present collaborator, Nibs van der Spuy, Guy was introduced to fingerstylist extraordinaire, Michael Hedges. This only ignited the flame even bigger. Guy then went on to study Jazz at the Kwa-Zulu Natal Technikon and later on, at the Durban School of Music to reunite with Leandros Stavrou, to further his classical training. Soon after, the boundaries were pushed even wider by hearing the music of Oregon, Ralph Towner, Steve Reich, Egberto Gismonti and John Coltrane to name a few.

After opening a concert in early 2001 for well known Mozambican musician Gito Baloi and Nibs van der Spuy, both musicians were dumb struck at the virtuosity coming from the fingers of the 17 year old. Not being able to ignore this enormous talent, it was not long before Buttery sealed a deal with South African World/Jazz label, Sheer Sound. His debut album “When I Grow Up…” was released in late 2002 to great critical acclaim. Comprising of highly original self written acoustic fingerstyle compositions, Guy Buttery was the youngest nominee in the history of the SAMA’s (South African Music Awards) of the same year. He was nominated in both ‘Best Instrumental Album of the Year’ and ‘Best Newcomer for 2002’, at the tender age of 18. After creating such a unique hybrid fingerstyle technique, using both hands on the fret board, creating polyphonic, percussive and harmonic textures, it wasn’t long before he caught the attention of a loyal cult following. This in turn translated into being invited to all the prestigious music festivals throughout South Africa and Mozambique. The tapestry of sounds and stylistic influences coming from his guitar, never seem to be exhausted. Just when you think the journey is over, he will start playing a beautiful rendition of one of his favourite South African composers. Be it Vusi Mahlasela, Tony Cox or Steve Newman, Buttery never loses sight of where he comes from and the rich local influences all around him.

Exciting times lie ahead for this local giant. 2005 saw the release of his follow up album, “Songs from the Cane Fields” which was once again nominated at the SAMA’s for ‘Best Instrumental Album’. The music speaks of an unbounded freedom, where the landscape meets the Indian Ocean. The inspiration clearly speaks of anguish, from days gone by, the unleashed joy of new beginnings and spirit of travel along ancient African footpaths. The album is an ode to his rich surroundings, yet ironically, will be the creative spring-board that ultimately catapults him to far away nations, so all can share in such a rich talent. The period following his sophomore release, interspersed with exotic travel destinations and new found instruments, were times for branching out of the solo field into various interesting and historical collaborations. Having completed numerous tours around South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Australia and the U.K., Guy has performed, supported, recorded and toured with many African greats as well as many artists on the International field such as Vusi Mahlasela, Missy Higgins, The Violent Femmes, Madala Kunene, Greg Georgiades, Brendan Jury, Landscape Prayers, Nibs vd Spuy, Kesivan Naidoo, Farryl Purkiss, Shawn Phillips, Valiant Swart and Steve Newman, to a name a few.

PowerNap is a patented audio recording that claims to induce sleep for three hours in a time span of twenty minutes. The recording was invented by Jonathan Husni in 2004, who was looking for a way for the employees of his Information Technology company to gain sleep they lost by working late hours.

PowerNap is said to work by using inaudible sound frequencies combined with white noise, sounding like light rain, as a carrier wave. The listener's brain syncs with the frequencies after about a minute. The recording then sends the listener through periods of deep and REM Sleep cycles, only to wake him/her up after the twenty-minute recording is over. Dreaming during the recording is normal.

The original PowerNap recording is twenty minutes long, putting the listener to sleep for the time period, and then waking he/she up at the end.

PowerNap "E", Extended Edition, is a forty-minute variation of the original recording.

PowerNap Dive is a variation which is over seventy minutes long. This version, however, takes the listener into a deep sleep, and then fades out, leaving the listener in the deep sleep.

The PowerNap NapMachine is the newest product in the PowerNap line. It is an updated version of the original PowerNap CD, but released on a PlayAway digital audio player for portability. It starts with a voice giving a brief instruction of how to use it, and ends with songbirds to wake the listener up if he/she is not already awake from the end of the recording.

Tandem Felix means Happy At Last in Latin. It is also the name of an up and coming young rock group from Lucan/Chapelizod in Dublin, Ireland. The members if Tandem Felix are, David Tapley, Vocals, Guitar, Ebow, Bow and Guitambourine, Evan Keogh, Bass and backing Vocals and Fiachra Kinder, Drums, Percussion, Bongos, Cajon. They began in September of 2005 and played in Coláiste Phádraig Battle Of The Bands, with D-Generates, where they finished in second place. Before long they were asked, along with D-Generates, to play in Commercials Rowing Club in Island Bridge on the 23rd of December where they played an hour long set including songs by "The Violent Femmes", "Cliff Richard", "Nirvana" and "Radiohead". Also in their set was the original original "The Bong Song" which can be heard on their websites www.tandem-felix.bebo.com or www.myspace.com/tandemfelixareok. Swiftly getting better and after a few months break they played Upload Festival 2006, with D-Generates, in The Spa Hotel Lucan on the 17th of August. Soon after, in between another Coláiste Phádraig Battle Of The Bands, with D-Generates, and a Noise Festival, with D-Generates, in Tallaght they recorded their first 3 song demo with Kieran Malone-"master sound engineer"(He also recorded D-Generates) of Pen2Paper Productions in Leixlip. The Bong Song, Glamore and Eighty-Four were recorded over the space of two working days and their finished products can be found on the websites. At Christmas of 2006 Tandem Felix played with 100 bands, including D-Generates, in The Vaults Club located under Connolly Station in Dublin City.

The New Year came with bright prospects for the band with a planned second demo on the way. The band recorded At The Waters Edge, Finally Damn Karma and Rosebud again with Kieran Malone over three days. You guessed it, they can be heard on the websites. Having all six songs spread around Lucan it didnt take the band long to be invited to Liffey Sound 96.4FM in Lucan, where David and Fiachra featured on Rags to Riches, an Irish Music Show where they were interviewed about the band and all six songs were played. Thereafter a Castleknock College Talent Show and a Coláiste Phádraig Graduation Night performance gave the band a boost leading into the summer which, apart from a show at The Chapelizod Festival, lead to a drought of shows and/or gigs. However, school term started again and the band were spurred into life with Upload 2 with Safe Destination, She Saves The Night and Balloons 4 Mark. The evening after Fiachra and Evan appeared again on Liffey Sound 96.4FM on Tír na nÓg, where they spoke about the band and about Upload 2. A week later they came first in The Quarryvale Battle Of The Bands for Suicide Awareness, played with More or Less, Mutant Culture, Safe Destination and Balloons 4 Mark. They recently qualified for the Castleknock College Battle Of The Bands and have shows in St. Josephs College Lucan, Lucan Community College, Coláiste Phádraig and Brian Aston's House on Christmas Eve. Abstract Familial multiple lipomatosis is a rare hereditary syndrome with a proposed autosomal-dominant inheritance. A case of an 66-year-old man with this disease is presented. Clinical features, genetic evidence, and treatment options are reviewed. ________________________________________

Clinical report History. An 66-year-old man presented to the Dermatology Service of the Department of King Fahd University Hospital for a total body skin examination. Approximately 40 years ago, the patient noted the development of multiple non-tender nodules on the trunk and upper extremities. These lesions were slow-growing and became more numerous with age. In fact, he ignored them because of benign feeling and reassurance of previous medical advice. Past medical history includes coronary artery disease. Medications include aspirin. Family history includes a subcutaneous disorder in multiple relatives. Physical examination. Multiple, rubbery, non-tender, non-pulstile nodules were located on the neck, abdomen, back, and both forearms. The lesions were mobile, fluctuant, with positive transillumination and ranged in size from 1-5 cm. Laboratory data. Total cholesterol was 172 mg/dl, LDL 125 mg/dl, HDL 52 mg/dl and triglycerides 109 mg/dl. Diagnosis. Familial multiple lipomatosis. Comment Familial multiple lipomatosis is a hereditary syndrome of uncertain prevalence. Multiple discrete, encapsulated lipomas are found on the trunk and extremities, with relative sparing of the head and shoulders. The number of tumors in any one patient may vary considerably. Although tumors usually range in size from a few millimeters to 6 cm in diameter, lipomas as large as 25 cm have been reported. Spontaneous regression and malignant degeneration are rare. The disease is not associated with any abnormalities in lipid metabolism. From case reports, most authors have inferred an autosomal dominant mode of inheritance, although men are affected twice as commonly as women. His full name is Nikolai Smirnoff and he is thirty years old. Some say he is a self-styled Russian playboy but he cannot deny that he does a reputation for enjoying some of life’s finer things.

For years he has been travelling the world, infiltrating new sub-cultures, making new contacts and throwing underground parties. This has since led to the establishment of covert organisations in many different parts of world, where agents assist other agents to perform undercover missions. He leads the way and funds it all.

His family is originally from the great city of Moscow. In the 1860s his great-grandfather, Piotr, prospered. Everyone knew the family well. It cannot be said at this time what Piotr’s business was, but it was pioneering and very successful - and involved an interesting relationship with the Russian Imperial Court.

Piotr was a kind and generous man, and for decades he was the link between the Tsars and the proletariat. But in the early 1900s, being a member of the Russian aristocracy began to cause Nikolai's family some degree of distress. Things came to a head in 1917 during the Bolshevik Revolution. Nikolai's grandfather, Vladimir, had since taken over Piotr’s business. His fortune took a turn for the worse when the Red Army sentenced him to death by firing squad. Fortunately for Nikolai, Vladimir was reprieved. But before he had time to celebrate he was sentenced again. And again. And again. These Bolsheviks just could not make a decision, and Vladimir did not want to stick around in case they changed their minds for a fifth time.

He fled to Constantinople, then to Poland and finally settled in France. Things were not exactly rosy for Vladimir. He did not have a penny to his name and my family was becoming hungrier by the day. The war had made building a business very difficult, but through a combination of sheer luck and dogged determination, Vladimir finally got his business off the ground and by 1933 he had expanded to that other great empire, America.

After World War Two, Vladimir returned to Russia where Nikolais' father was born. Nikolai's father has now passed away and he has inherited the family fortune. However, it was his last dying wish that Nikolai use this money to inspire people around the world to revel in pleasure-seeking activities and, above all, have fun. Nikolai considers it a great honour to be handed this prodigious responsibility and vows to do everything in his power to amuse people with my original and exciting form of entertainment.

Recently people have been trying to take down Nikolai and his organisation. Nikolai does not mean any harm and has been terribly disappointed at these attempts.
