I HISTORY

Kumai came from Bugis language “kembali ke pangkuanku”. It means “return to my lap”. Kumai was one part of Kutaringin Monarchy. It was lead by Pangeran Bendahara. But, he gave Kumai to Muhammad Cik (Kumai’s Village leader). And then he gave his position to the Amsar, and Amsar is choosen by government to be a regent in Kumai. Besides that, we could not find the others history, because there is no authentic evidence that we could found. Actually, there are many historical places in Kumai. It is because it was a basis for Indonesian fighter to attack Dutch and also Japanese. The tragedy was happened on January 14th 1946. Many our warrior were killed there, but they could maintain their base. And for remembering that moment, the government has built a monument and a park there. The name of the park is “Taman Bahagia”. It is located in Sei. Tendang and on every January 14th, all of the people there celebrate it for remembering Kumai’s fighter. Kobar regent always attends for it. Kumai District as the biggest district in West Kotawaringin regency is divided into three districts namely Kumai, Pangkalan Lada and Pangkalan Banteng districts. Those districts which have width about 4.456 km2 has been mutualy agreed by Local House of Representative (DPRD). The Regent at that time, H Abdul Razak signed the region regulation about the district forming in plenary meeting forum of council. The final result was a long process from various solutions with the first plan. The Modification happened either from the name of district and opinion about Kumai which was intended by government to divide into four political districts plus one regional political district of coastal area. In that plenary meeting, seven fractions of council supporter had agreed and had accepted the Raperda (Regional government meeting) dividing into Kumai District specified as Region regulation. " By saying ‘Bismillahirahmanirrahim’, we express to accept the Raperda become the Region regulation about regional forming of Pangkalan Lada district and Pangkalan Banteng, while Kumai as main district," said Sumanto, S.E, chief of Army Fraction of Republic Indonesia/ police. Regent of West Kotawaringin at that time, H Abdul Razak after signing the region regulation explained, the result of formula and agreement between regency goverment and DPRD have specified two new districts as a part of Kumai district. He said " By forming two new districts, we expect that it can support the public service in governance affairs, development issue and social affairs." The capital of Pangkalan Lada district is Pandu Senjaya ( ex Pangkalan Lada SP 4). The district is initialy proposed as a Center Kumai covering seven countrysides, namely Makarti Jaya, Pangkalan Lada, Pandu Senjaya, Lada Mandala Jaya, Sumber Agung, Sungai Rangit Jaya and Purba Sari countrysides. Karang Mulya is The capital of Pangkalan Banteng District (ex Natai Kerbau SP 4). The most east district initialy is proposed by as East Kumai covering eight countrysides that are Desa Mulya Jadi, Pangkalan Banteng, Karang Mulya, Marga Mulya, Arga Mulya, Amin Jaya, Sido Mulya and Kebun Agung. At that time, the Regent hoped, if two new district could have the larger ones opportunity in existing exploiting the potency of resources.

II MOTTO

The motto of Kumai is “Beriman” which is an acronym of Bersih (clean), Indah (beautiful), Ramah (sociable) dan Aman (peaceful). The motto itself literally is translated as “Religious”.

III GEOGRAPHY

Kumai has total area about 2.921,00 km2. In the north side, the location is near with Arut Utara district, Seruyan regency in the East, Java Sea in the South, and Arut Selatan district in the Western.

IV TOPOGRAPHICS

North: plain and kinds of land/ground which hold up to erosion Center: raddle, lake and bog. South: bog, alluvial which has many aqueous/water.

V ICLIM

There are 2 seasons in Kumai, that are dry and rain season. The temperature is about 20o-30o celcius, the mount inclination is about 0-100m and 0-80 %.

VI DEMOGRAPHICS

There are 39.086 people living in Kumai. Kumai has 155 RT (neighborhood administrative unit) and 23 RW (residence administrative unit).

The capital of Kumai District is Kumai. It is divided into 3 sub districts and 14 regions. The sub districts are Kumai Hulu, Kumai Hilir and Candi and the regions are Sei. Cabang, Teluk Pulai, Sei. Sekonyer, Batu Belaman, Pangkalan Satu, Kubu, Sei. Bakau, Sei. Bedaun, Teluk Bogam, Keraya, Sebuai, Sei. Kapitan, and Bumiharjo.

VII ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS

Majority of the people are Melayu and Banjarese. The others ethnic are Maduranese, Javanese, Bugisnese, Sundanese, Dayaknese, Chinese and some foreign citizens (volunteer, researcher and also tourist).

VIII RELIGION

Majority of the people are Moslems (85%). The others are Hindus, Buddhists, Christiants (Protestant and Catholic). Amount of religious service places are: 1. Mosque: 33 2. Small Mosque: 83 3. Church: 3 4. Other: 1

IX LANGUAGE

Kumai Language (Coastal Language) is the daily language of Kumai. It looks like Banjar language, because some of the resident originated from Banjar. The Ianguage in Kumai are highly varied because Kumai is a port city and many people visited it from others area.

X ART & CULTURE

1. Tirik, it looks like Poetry (From Kumai Hulu District) 2. Hadrah: it is one kind of Islamic music by using rebana. 3. Bebersih Benua or cleaning continent (refuse the disaster or bad luck) It is held in every year by fishermen. 4. Custom ceremony. The ceremonies are usually held in Kumai such as nuptials, circumcision, etc. 5. Japin. It is a dance that very interesting from Melayu people. It can be found in district of Candi. 6. Rebana. This is one kind of Islamic art that has mixed with local art.

XI POINTS OF INTEREST

1. TNTP (Tanjung Puting National Park) Tanjung Puting national park is a place for conservation area that has function as protection system of life. It protects many variety of plants, animal and the ecosystem in natural resources. Tanjung Puting National Park is the largest protected area of swamp forest in South-East Asia. Tanjung Puting first received a level of protection in 1935 and was later officially designated as a Wild Reserve in 1939. In 1982, it was declared as a National Park. The Park was established primarily for the protection of Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) and its formation was instigated and aided by the efforts of Dr. Birute Galdikas and Orangutan Foundation International. When this area become national park, Tanjung Harapan has moved into the other side of Sekonyer river (across the original area). At that time the original width establishment was 300,040ha. After the movement, it has increased into 415,040ha. The Park receives aid from Orangutan International Canada and it is recognized as a World Biosphere Reserve by the United Nations. Tanjung Puting occupies most of the peninsula between Teluk Kumai and the Seruyan River and consists of varied habitats including peat and freshwater swamp forests, lowland tropical rainforests and heath forests. The Park is drained by several black water rivers eminating from the northern and eastern parts. Tanjung Puting National Park is famous primarily because of two primates: the orangutan and the proboscis monkey (endemic to Borneo). At Camp Leakey research is conducted on Orangutans, Gibbons, other animals and ecological processes. At Camp Leakey orangutans are also rehabilitated and returned to the wild. Since 1971 over 200 orangutans have been returned to the wild as part of Dr. Birute Galdikas Orangutan Research and Conservation Project This park is divided into 4 places that have their each potency of natural resources. They are: 1. TANJUNG HARAPAN. This place is representing for exploiting zone. It is developed for the activity of ecotourism that provide the information center, guest house, watcher tower, camping ground. When you are traveling along the edge of the river, you will see the nipah formation, screw pine and bog forest, and then you can do tracking and bird watching. We can enter to the center of TNTP information to get the information from the officer. We can stay in guest house. There are 3 rooms for 6 people and home stay are divided into 4 houses in Sekonyer countryside by 8 rooms for 16 people with reasonable ticket. You can buy the souvenir from TNTP that are typical souvenir like T-shirt, key hanger, sticker, painting of orangutan and orangutan statue. 2. PONDOK TANGGUI. This is a special place which representing the existance of pre-wild and adolescent orangutan. Overthere, we can see various kind of animals like deer, pig, rangkong bird (Rhinoceros), Raja Udang bird and Sesep Madu bird. During journey from Tanjung Harapan to Pondok Tanggui, you can also perceive the existence of Bekantan (Dutch monkey) and also group of long tailed monkey which is swaying in the trees and also estuarin crocodile (Crocodylus porosus dan Tomistoma schlegelli) , along the journey. 3. CAMP LEAKEY. This place is a research site and rehabilitation site for adult Orangutan. It is suitable for visiting the place to see the orangutan rehabilitan both for pre-wild or wild. Beside that, you can enjoy the Owa-owa, Bald Eagle, Sesep Madu bird, and Hornbill (Enggang) or Rangkong. During your traveling in the river bank, we can also see some of Bekantan’s attraction and long tailed monkey which is swaying in the trees. Another wild animal in the river is Crocodile. 4. PANTAI SUNGAI CABANG. It is a beautiful beach that has white sand along the beach. In that place is also available facilities and basic facilities, that are in the form of working hut and maintenance post, home stay, guest house, information center, shelter, watching tower, camping ground, dock, souvenir, radio communications and speed boat.

2. Bugam Raya (Kubu Beach, Bay of Bogam, Keraya and Sungai Umbang which residing in one band).

· Bugam Raya Þ Kubu Beach This countryside is one of Kumai district administratively, sub-province of West Kotawaringin, is very easy to reach. From Pangkalan Bun, we can walk in the land pass. The road is covered by asphalt, which has width about 122 km2. The distance is about 28 km or 1 hour traveling by vehicle.

The scenery during the journey from Pangkalan Bun to Kubu is miserable. The situation is very desolated and hot, particularly the view in the left and in the right side are predominated by the grassland (Imperatacy Lindrica, called alang-alang in Indonesia). Likely it can represent the condition of Kalimantan now. Kubu Countryside is located in coastal area, as a result, majority of resident of this countryside have living as fisherman.

The situation in Kubu beach Þ Bay of Bogam It is a beautiful and a fascinated bay. The distance from Pangkalan Bun to the Bay of Bogam is about 50 km or about 2 hours traveling by using vehicle. Þ Keraya It is a coast which has many people visit it, because it is very beautiful. It is located in Keraya countryside about ± 57 km from Pangkalan Bun or about 2,5 hours travelling by vehicle. Þ Sungai Umbang It is a coast which has many mangrove trees. it is very beautiful and many people visit it. 3. Patih Mambang Waterfall. It is a waterfall from hilly land and field, and the water emiting a stream of into the sea. It is located in countryside Keraya. Besides the waterfall, in this countryside we could also for noted a coast which is used to diving and as well as surfing and also for fishing. 4. White Sand Beach (Sei. Cabang). It is a coast, which has clean white sand. It is located in Sei. Cabang countryside. It is used as a place for green turtle conservation. It was built by FNPF (Friends of Nation Park Foundation) that is a foundation which focused in conservation. 5. Sei. Rengas (Treasure ommision in the ground) Based on the data that we could found, in this area (Sei. Rengas), there are hidden treasures in the ground. We do not know anything about what kind of treasures are hidden there, because there is no authentic data. 6. Cannon colonization in Kubu. There are some historic ommision, that is war cannon which used for colonization epoch of Dutch colonial at that time. 7. George A. Winke’s mauseloum (Sei. Kapitan) It is a mausoleum of Dutch soldier who was in a kapiten (captain) position, he was dead and buried in that countryside. So, that countryside is referred to Kapitan countryside.

XII FACILITY

The land communication infrastructure of networks in Kumai town have adequate enough by the quality of road or street consisted by the asphalt, and ground. The transportation infrastructur in this town has not yet been made available, but when the resident want to go to Pangkalan Bun or to outside town, they can use rental car or mikrolet. Loading and unloading of goods and also the people from other area arrival show transportation by river. Kumai port has owned the permanent dock named Panglima Oetar port, that is able to be visited by the big ship with the interisland sea transportation, and also for Exporting / importing. Beside this port therei is a river, which connects the port of Kumai. It is connecting to the others countryside in. Others Kumai port are CPO port (Located in Sei. Tempenik) and Fery port (Located in Sei. Tempenik). Electrics service in Kumai almost spread out in all ports of the town, both for householding need and also for industrial need. While requirement of drinking water will be fulfilled by river and well, there is also available a drinking water distribution by PDAM (Drinking Water Local Company).

XIII OCCUPATIONS

Kumai Resident has various occupation. In general they work as fisherman (fishery of Bandeng fish & prawnpond or tambak udang). But they also work as farmer, PNS (Public Civil Servant), ABRI, trading (entrepeneur), Employees (private) in company oil palm plantation (in Sei. Bedaun), Coconut, gold miner and Zirkon (Puya), breeder (Chicken, goat, ox, pig).

KCC started in 1951 as a textile store in Koronadal City, South Cotabato. It then expanded in 1989 into a supermarket department store format called KCC Shopping Center.

In 1992, KCC opened its first store in General Santos City called KCC Warehouse Plaza. The warehouse club format helped it establish a small but promising foothold in General Santos City.

In 1996, KCC Warehouse Plaza converted into an airconditioned hypermarket cum mall concept and was renamed KCC Mall of Gensan. With renowned tenants such as Jollibee, Greenwich, Penshoppe, and others, KCC’s was able to better serve its customers.

The Institute for Private Enterprise is an Australian political group established for the purposes of promoting the cause of private enterprise and reducing the role of the government in economic affairs. Des Moore is the Institute's Director.[1].

After resigning in 1987 from the position of Deputy Secretary in the Treasury due to fears that government policy would lead to recession, Des Moore in 1996 formed the Institute with the aim of assisting in the promotion of private enterprise and greater deregulation of the Australian economy[2].

The Institute believes in a rolling-back of Government regulation in the Australian economy. The Institute however still believes in government assisting the disadvantaged, eliminating private monopolies and having a legal system which allows private enterprises to flourish by encouraging risk-taking and economic growth[3]. The Institute has focussed on reform of Australia's labour market in recent years, and has ties with the controversial H.R. Nicholls Society.

Michael James was born in 1992 in Carine, Western Australia. He was born to Gary and Jonnine James. Originally he started cricket for Sorrento Duncraig Junior Cricket CLub. There he was selected for Scarborough Senior Cricket club where he had many brillant peformances. Tucker Estron, a minor celebrity in the Puget Sound region, is the pseudonym of a zinester, poet, and political commentator whose "tax name," as she puts it, is something entirely ordinary. She created the "Tucker Estron" identity as a character for her first zine and over time adopted the name as her nom de plume.

Originally from Olympia, WA, Tucker began publishing a small free zine OtherWise, a combination of science fiction and possible autobiography, in the mid-1990s. Though the zine only had a print run of 200 copies per issue, it generated a small amount of international interest when a French tabloid featured an article about the small publication and its creator.

The PGM (in German :Prüfgemeinschaft Mauerbohrer e.V.) certifies hammer and percussion drill bits for concrete and similar materials. The PGM is located in Remscheid (Germany) and has been found in 1978. The drill bits have to fulfil close tolerances in order to secure, that the manufactured holes are suitable for safe anchor fixings. In a hole which is too big or not exact, the anchor fixing can not be safe.

Drill bits certified by the PGM are marked with the registered PGM mark on the drill bit itself and on the packaging.

The tolerances are monitored by the PGM. New developed drill bits have to proof their suitability for anchor fixings by extensive comparision tests. Sioux Falls Christian High School [4] is a Christian school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It is in the Sioux Falls Christian School system, which also contains students pre-kindergarten to high school. The superintendent and high school principal is Jay Woudstra. Michael Robert Keane (born January 18, 1991 in Winchester Massachusetts, but lived in Medford Massachusetts, which is located about 5 minutes away from Boston) is a former guitarist in New Hampshire. This 'High School Legand' football player is currently attending his Sophmore year. With his new album "Who Am I", Michael will surely top the charts in late 2006.
