[edit] Controversy
It appears that there is controversy surrounding the subject of the article. Per WP:BLP, I've removed some opinionated POV comments from the page, apparently from three different posters:
- THIS MAN IS DANGEROUS, HE BREAKS UP FAMILIES AND RUINS LIFES. THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT TO BOOK FOR HIS ACTIONS. PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINE PLEASE LISTEN TO WHAT I AM SAYING. THIS MAN IS PURE EVIL. GET OUT NOW WHILE YOU CAN.
- Pastor Apollo constantly claims on his programs that he is the Son of God. Although this claim has been made before, the only legitimate claim was that made by Jesus Christ, the real Son of God.
- Pastor Apollo C Quiboloy lives like a king from all the hard-working followers who believe this man is the son of god. he pays his brainwashed followers a pittance while most of them live hand-to-month. This charlatan as taken advantage of the poor Filipino who believes this man can give them a future. My wife is Filipino and lives in Manila. One day, all her family left her to go and join this cult. she is now on her own with no support or contact. this is because phones are not permitted in the Kingdom. This man needs to be removed from his position before he causes anymore family break-ups.
Opinions aside, if anybody has material from WP:RS reliable sources that document as fact any of these accusations or that document the views as a significant view (per WP:NPOV), please re-add the material with a citation and the appropriate NPOV tone. [edit] Notability
Since somebody tried to speedy this, apparently the notability isn't obvious. The fellow's a TV evangelist who is carried nationally in the Phillipines and internationally via satellite. The Google test is best applied to first-world topics that appeal to the Internet set. For more info on the fellow, search his local paper and you'll find a number of articles. - That was me. I'll grant that
-
- 38 of about 45 from www.sunstar.com.ph for Apollo quiboloy with Safesearch on
- from a (critical) local news outlet in a city of >1M people, is more significant than the G-test
- 230 of about 316 for Quiboloy
- that i cited in my ProD nom, but i doubt that the burden of proof of verifiable notability has been met. I'm not inclined at the moment to lead the charge on AfD, even tho i'll weigh again & vote on AfD, if i'm notified when someone nom's him.

- For what it's worth, I've visited the Philippines the last several summers, and the guy is definitely a household name there. He is very notable from a Filipino perspective. CaliforniaKid 07:28, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] CIA and mind control
I'm sure this is another experiment in mind control. You think this guy did this on his own? You don't think he has alot of backing?
It's no different from the Jim Jones and Sum Yung Moon cults. The CIA wants more information on how to control people so they do these great big experiments. It's been going on since the Nazi scientists where taken back to the US after World War 2.
Either way these false messiahs are definatly a sign that the end is near.
Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, [he is] in the secret chambers; believe [it] not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
I'd like to see all these guys in the same room. If they fight, my money's on Benny Hinn. He's small, but I bet he's fast, and probably the most demonic.
I also wonder what will happen to them when the real false christ arrives, who is said to be Satan himself.
"As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will personate Christ .. Now the great deceiver will make it appear that Christ has come. In different parts of the earth, Satan will manifest himself among men as a majestic being of dazzling brightness.." The Great Controversy Ch 39 P. 624

I'm removing the "Controversies" section due to the fact that it is unsourced. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fmajor (talk • contribs) 12:38, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Apollo is not a true Christian
Jesus Christ said: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ, and will deceive many." You need to believe what Jesus preached in order to be a Christian, and if you believe Apollo is the Christ, you don't believe what Christ preached. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.234.218.126 (talk) 17:02, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Quiboloy and his minions definitely cannot substantiate their claims because just recently, I posted a lengthy Biblical discourse on one of their blog sites listed here in Wikipedia. The webmaster, a certain Brigheli, probably wasn't able to handle it because I saw my posting instantaneously removed! This guys probably just listens to Quiboloy without cross-checking their own Bible or Christian history. And how about this other guy Jose Miranda who's also claiming messiahship? Shame on all of them! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Specialist58 (talk • contribs) 10:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. On Wikipedia, we really don't discuss the article topic itself much. Instead, we talk about how to make a good encyclopedia article about the subject. So comments like this belong more on your personal blog than on Wikipedia. Thanks, William Pietri (talk) 13:36, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

- Perhaps, but we should mention that this guy is a fraud. --69.234.207.172 (talk) 00:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unsourced, Unreliable Statements
I have been monitoring this article for months, but there are people who, shall I say, "vandalize" this article with unsourced, unreliable statements. I hope that there will be persons who are trying to edit not just this article but all Wikipedia articles to be fair and reliable according to the Wikipedia standards.
May the Almighty Father bless you all! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fmajor (talk • contribs) 14:10, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Unsourced? Unreliable?
You know, most of the time, a lot of people deny the obvious, He is truly known to be a cult leader who takes advantage of his followers.
And what connection does this article have with other articles?
Please, I think you need to read your own words. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.60.240.214 (talk) 12:18, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
