Apollo C. Quiboloy is the founder and leader of the The Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, a Philippine-based church. He owns and runs the ACQ Kingdom Broadcasting Network, a Davao City-based religious broadcast nework. Quiboloy is also the president of Jose Maria College, and educational institution within the compound of his church in Davao City. Quiboloy has Locale Congregations all over the Philippines and around the world. He airs his message on his radio and TV station, managed by his own church.

Quiboloy also believes himself to be the incarnate Son of God, as claimed by his daily messages and lessons on ACQ-KBN. [1]

Apollo C. Quiboloy was born to Jose Quiboloy and Maria Carreon, on April 25, 1950, in a small village at the foothills of Mt. Apo in Tamayong, Calinan, Davao City, the youngest in a brood of 9. Both natives of Lubao, Pampanga, in Luzon, Philippines, the couple had migrated to Davao City in the 1940's, just after the war, to find a better life.

[edit] Controversy and Criticism

Pastor Apollo claims on his programs that he is the appointed Son of God and that Davao City is the New Jerusalem[6]. Others dispute these claims. He claims that he is the way the truth and the life (John 14:6). He teaches that "No one comes to the Father except through Apollo C Quiboloy".[1]

In March 2005, Quiboloy mentioned the name of controversial pastor Eli Soriano of Ang Dating Daan who contanstly criticizes his doctrines, as already being "marked" for hell, and declared that he will be stricken with an incurable disease in the months ahead. He gave members of Ang Dating Daan six months from the time of his pronouncement to leave the ministry or suffer the same circumstances as their leader. [7]

Quiboloy has a number of charitable institutions under the umbrella of Sonshine Phlippines Movement. Among them are:

The SPM is covering every possible social service to the people - children, livelihood, medical, dental, education, the handicapped, conservation. SPM will also be operating with the congregations of the Kingdom ministry, called Kingdom Locale Congregations, in every city, town and municipality, in instigating sweeping social and environmental projects.[2]
