Allerød is a municipality (Danish, kommune) on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 67 km², and has a total population of 23,493 (2008). Its mayor is Eva Nejstgaard, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party.

Neighboring municipalities are: Birkerød to the south, Hørsholm to the east, Karlebo and Hillerød to the north, Slangerup to the west, and Stenløse and Farum to the south-west.
