[edit] WWI - injury

He was injured in WWI on 1 August famliy was originally notified in error that it was serious this rectified 1 month later. The injury was to his right ankle after slipping in the officers mess. there 8 page in his service record about the investigation to ensure the injury wasnt self inflicted deliberately. He recieved British War medal and Victory medal in WWI. Digital image of his WWI service record is available on line via http://www.naa.gov.au/the_collection/recordsearch.html service record indicates he died early February 1959.
