from us census data we can see that 25.8% of the population of georgia is in the age range 5-22

The Name Udo. Hello, Udo Proksch if a convicted murderer had died in custody. To remove my request, Udo Proksch from this list.--62.47.220.81 (talk) 10:56, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I blocked what is presumably another IP of yours (62.47.215.184) for 24 hours for continuing to change the page Udo. Udo Proksch was clearly a businessman, the fact that he died in custody is irrelevant and won't help people find information about him. Please don't use this IP address to edit that page, or there's a possibility it will be blocked as well. Cheers —αlεx•mullεr 11:04, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

re Read the definition of vandalism. I was adding a preface to the paragraph that followed which was in no way accurate or encyclopedic. It was simply a derogatory and immature opinion of the writer and this is exactly what I said.
the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Even harmful edits that are not explicitly made in bad faith are not considered vandalism. For example, adding a personal opinion to an article once is not vandalism — it's just not helpful, and should be removed or restated. Not all vandalism is obvious, nor are all massive or controversial changes vandalism. Careful attention needs to be given to whether changes made are beneficial, detrimental but well intended, or outright vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Informatron (talk • contribs) 22:32, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Articles for Deletion by 59.167.45.168
Howdy! Just saw your message on 59.167.45.168's talk page about the AfD thingys he/she has put on a number of websites. Sorry this is brief, I'm just about to head out for work - he/she seems to have focused on a large number of The Bill characters pages, for example Liz Rawton, Debbie McAllister etc - I have just quickly added a link to the bio page on Liz Rawton's page (www.thebillbios.co.uk)... Anything you can do at all/advise? Cheers! BNC85 (talk) 18:57, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, this is a very interesting case - there's nothing to stop him adding the PROD tags, he's perfectly allowed to. And you should only really remove them if they can fulfil the reason for PROD'ing, which I'm not sure they do at the moment... you can either remove the PROD tags from the articles and face the possibility of challenging them at AFD, or tidy up the articles and then remove the tags, or just leave them for deletion. None of the situations are fantastic, unfortunately —αlεx•mullεr 23:20, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry i am not well Wiki schooled yet but will get there. I was unable to post to your talk becuase you had me blocked. I should have used a different approach other than deleting the article. Live and learn. About OJ Simpson, he killed people, the party targeted in the article was one of dozens in an office for insider trading. Because his name is unique he will pay a hire price than all others convicted as there names fade into cyberspace. We know who the posts are coming from and it is clearly an antogonist wanting to keep this old conviction in the news. Thanks for your patience with this. Cdcflies (talk) 21:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- No need to apologise at all - I'm sorry for blocking you, and as you seem to understand what you did, it should never happen again. Fair enough about the article, but I've got absolutely no idea who's editing it... some advice for you (if you want to agree with the content of the article more) is to read through Wikipedia's key policies (WP:N, WP:V, WP:NOR, WP:BLP). If you find anything on Wikipedia that blatantly disagrees with any of those policies, it can be removed, no questions asked. And every administrator and experienced editor on the site will support you in those decisions, provided they're correct. Hope this helps, somewhat —αlεx•mullεr 15:31, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism on my userpage
Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my usertalk page. This user is continually tring to vandalise my page. am thinking of putting semi page protection on it so only experienced users can edit. Are you an admin? if you are can you do that for me? Chris19910 (talk) 18:54, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- You're very welcome for the revert – I presume you're talking about Chuuplo? I actually just blocked him for 24 hours for continuing to recreate the same page over and over (and actually, 24 hours was on the light side, considering what he could have got). Semi-protection won't do much against him though – it only works on accounts that are younger than 4 days, and he's been around since December. If it happens again (from him or anyone else) let me know here and we'll see what we can do. Hope this helps —αlεx•mullεr 18:59, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Tim Buckley revert
Thanks for the revert, i'm doing up stuff on the article and I think it's god damn awful in the first place without the vandalism! And if possible: not sure if you know much about the subject but could you check what i've written on Lorca (album) for style? I'm comfortable with chucking in facts n dates and the sort but very wary of NPOV writing. Any other input on my ideas for Tim Buckley things would be appreciated cos i think i'm working alone in a black hole there. Thanks Sillyfolkboy (talk) 19:26, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've got no idea about the content at all, but can happily comment on the article. It seems fine as far as NPOV goes – those quotations need citations though or they "may be removed at any time" (WP:QUOTE). I won't remove them just yet as I haven't had time to do a proper search for the source, but if you know it please include it. —αlεx•mullεr 12:27, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

George DiCaprio revert
Hi Alex,
I converted the word "comics" to "comix" in the George DiCaprio page because that is the spelling that distinguishes the type of comics that DiCaprio created - underground comix.
It has been spelled that way since the 1960's when these comix were created to show that they were different from the "mainstream" comics because of their content which included graphic depictions of sex and violence.
George DiCaprio was friendly with some of the main creators of underground comix such as Robert Williams, Robert Crumb and art spiegelman (sic).
I think it is a significant change and I would like to change it back that way in the article.
Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.250.216.114 (talk) 03:26, 30 April 2008
- Hey, I notice this edit is from the 14th February – at the time I didn't realise that the link pointed to the same article, but if you want to point it to Underground comix that's fine. Also, if you leave an edit summary in future it will generally prevent people from reverting your changes when they think they're questionable. Cheers, hope this helps —Alex.Muller 07:22, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

El Farmero (you deleted my 'Kory Bennett' article)
Yeah hi thanks for deleting that I blanked it for a reason...
Kory Bennett is not a very famous man. He's a proffessor. And he does not have any citeable sources. He's just an ordinary person. However, he has a lot of influences on a lot of peoples lives and all of his fellow scholars and students here respect him greatly. So no. He's not a celebrity. He's just a man who helps a lot of people here at the academy achive theor scientific goals. Now you might be thinking, "Make him a myspace and get out of Wikipedia's face" but, no. He's someone who, although not famous, deserves an encyclopedic entry. And wikipedia is the only place that can be accomplished. The freedom of a wiki is so...powerful and has such freedoms that it is the only place where this can be accomplished. So I'm asking you to reconsider. To bend your criteria for 1 page. We all know this guy deserves it.
-El Farmero —Preceding unsigned comment added by El Farmero (talk • contribs) 22:29, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- We can't bend the rules, unfortunately – because there are a couple of people I'd love to write entries for, but they just don't deserve it at the moment. There are a couple of choices: spend some time putting together an article, find sources, and really work on it so it fulfils the notability criteria... or, have a look at Biographicon (ref). Definitely give the latter a go, if only to start an article. And please send me a link to there if you do, I've never looked for one before. Hope this helps —Alex.Muller 22:50, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Consideration for Boilerplate Deletion
Dear Muller:
We want to bring to you attention the fact that FisherQueen has remove articles defaming “Ron Bongo” and “Ronald Bongo.” Please see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:JRS-SEC
And it does appear that this admin has stopped the perpetrator:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:JRS-SEC, that is the contributor who calls himself JRS-SEC
We are also requesting that you take down http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_SEC_Boiler_Room_Prosecutions. In this case the users are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Chopped_Lamb or/and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Smarkflea but we believe its the same person as JRS-SEC under different sign-ins.
While the facts in this article are from the SEC proceedings, the context is totally false and misleading. The term “boiler room” has been used to denote shady securities operators for more than fifty years. In that time there have been thousands of arrests and prosecutions but your article makes it seem like the Mr. Bongo is a “mastermind” and a notable historical figure in the world of boiler room prosecutions. Wasn’t Mr. Bongo’s employer more of a mastermind? Weren’t the thousand other boiler room operators who have also ever been prosecuted?
This article was clearly not written to enlighten the public on the state of boiler room prosecutions. It was created wholly and totally to defame Mr. Ron Bongo.
Here is the true story. When Ron Bongo was a young man who got a job at a brokerage firm that was censured by the SEC. Mr. Bongo along with the principals and other salespeople at the firm were convicted of securities fraud and punished. Mr. Bongo paid his debt to society and went on to another field where he has made a success for himself.
But because he has an unusual name, the notice of his conviction remained to ruin his reputation. Many others were mentioned in the very same SEC document (14 names in all) but because their names were more common, their reputation was not affected because the notice in the back page of Google. Mr Bongo hired us to push down the SEC notice.
For some reason, our helping Mr. Bongo so incensed his attacker that he has worked consistently in Wikipedia and elseswhere (he added Mr. Bongos conviction to various social networking sites.) He has even gone so far as to create an article on "Boiler Room Prosecutions" just so he can "star" Mr. Bongo as a ringleader.
This kind of slander does not belong in Wikipedia which is supposed to be an objective encyclopedia. Mr. Bongo was an employee, a salesman who made a mistake. He was not a ringleader and does not deserve to be the focus of an article on "boiler room prosecutions" -- there have been thousands of such prosecutions not mentioned by the attacker in this article. Do you think Mr. Bongo should be singled out and made to pay for the rest of his life just because his attacker thinks he should?
Please do the right thing and remove all references to Ron Bongo or Ronald Bongo including the false linkage to Ron Bongo as kingpin of boiler room prosecutions.
I’m sure you will agree that Wikipedia should not be misused in a way that serves no public benefit and causes personal harm and pain to an individual who paid fully for his crime a decade ago.
If you cannot remove the boiler room article directly, please tell us how we might proceed to use the Wikipedia Articles for Deletion process.
Thank you for you assistance in this matter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.153.87.249 (talk) 21:14, 5 May 2008 (UTC) 205.153.87.249 Jordan G (talk) 21:21, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

I would like to know if and how I could save the article and work on it before having it published.
If I can't do that, just let me know if the only way is to prepare it outside wikipedia and then input all at once.
Thank you

- (Oh, and by the way...) I used to play the first version of this game on the Nintendo 64. I'm reading through the article now and it's bringing back a whole ton of memories, so thank you. And even watching videos of it

IFlewATA.com Deleted
My article, IFlewATA.com has been deleted, and I either would like a copy of it, or I would like to have enough time to change it so that it meets Wikipedia's guidleines. I wasn't trying to advertise IFLewATA.com, but I guess I did glorify it a little bit. Please undo the deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by IFlewATA (talk • contribs) 03:41, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Rfb participation thanks
Hello, Alex.
I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote. Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. If you have any further suggestions or comments as to how you think I could help the project, please let me know. Once again, thank you for your support. -- Avi (talk) 17:16, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
WBOSITG's RfA
Solar 1
Hello Alex. I picked you out at random because I needed the help of an Admin. I created a page for Solar 1. I am having trouble adding images and external links to the page. If you want to know more about the subject, the website is www.solar1.org. It is a facility that houses a non-profit group, Solar One. I created a page for the facility because it is New York City's only self-sustaining (from an energy perspective) solar facility. It is also home to many interesting programs, and is a prototype for a larger building that will be built in the near future. It also sits adjacent to a park which is managed for the city by Solar One and is unique in its own right for several reasons. I would appreciate a few tips on how to make the page more informative and useful. Thank You. -eper1709 Email address removed —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eper1709 (talk • contribs) 15:39, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Cool — let's have this discussion on your talk page and the article talk page, it'll be easier —Alex.Muller 15:46, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

RfA thanks!
| RfA: Many thanks | ||
| Many thanks for your participation in my recent request for adminship. I am impressed by the amount of thought that goes into people's contribution to the RfA process, and humbled that so many have chosen to trust me with this new responsibility. I step into this new role cautiously, but will do my very best to live up to your kind words and expectations, and to further the project of the encyclopedia. Again, thank you. --jbmurray (talk • contribs) 06:10, 18 May 2008 (UTC) |

One of the funniest barnstars I have ever awarded, if I may say so myself. --SharkfaceT/C 20:53, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

| I hereby award you this barnstar for not only fighting vandalism, but also for supporting me when the vandal was saying some way uncool things to me in his edit summeries Jsmith86 (talk) 22:31, 18 May 2008 (UTC) |
No problem, those edit summaries were ridiculous... thanks for the work you're doing :) Alex.Muller 22:54, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
In which I fail
Sorry about this, I was using HUGGLE and it was lagging and I pressed the revert button one too many times. - Icewedge (talk) 00:19, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem at all - Huggle's a fantastic tool, use it wisely :) Alex.Muller 00:22, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

wats ur problem wit my page partick reavey?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joey136 (talk • contribs) 10:44, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- As I explained before on your talk page, there was no assertion of why the subject of the article was notable. Add that to the fact it seemed to be mostly made up, and I decided to delete it Alex Muller 10:47, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Doctor Who - original research
Alex - that whole section is original research - wikipedia doesn't care that it might be true, only that it can sources to reliable 3rd party sources - there is not a single source in the section. So please don't template people you don't agree with. You might disagree about the removal but it doesn't make my action any less good faith in nature. The template you used doesn't even make any sense in the context of the situation because I DID include a "helpful edit summary" - please think more carefully about how you communicate with your fellow editors in future. --87.112.82.25 (talk) 11:32, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
oh and looking at it, you did six edits in the space of two minutes, there is absolutely no chance that you actually considered my edit before reverting and templating me. I suggest you slow down and consider your actions more carefully. --87.112.82.25 (talk) 11:35, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I was using an automated anti-vandalism tool which automatically presents edits depending on how likely they are to be vandalism. There's a couple of issues here:
- You're an IP address, meaning that (strictly speaking in terms of statistics) your edits are more likely to be vandalism. Perhaps consider registering an account.
- You removed incredibly large chunks of text from the article, a "technique" typically used by vandals. Consider making smaller edits at a time.
- The reason you did specify was inside /* */, meaning that it was only an automatic edit summary, and was counted by the tool as not having one. Make sure the edit summary is explicit in future.
- All the best, Alex Muller 12:35, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for fixing that AfD. I had a look at the redirect but, I couldn't be 100% sure I knew what they were trying to say. Jasynnash2 (talk) 13:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem — I couldn't see what happened with the redirect either, but just reverted to an earlier version because it was the easiest thing to do :) Alex Muller 13:12, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
