The Afrikaans Wikipedia is an Afrikaans language edition of the Web-based free-content encyclopedia Wikipedia. The project was started on November 16, 2001, and was the 11th Wikipedia to be created.[1] As of 3 May 2008, this edition has over 9 600 articles[2] and is the 69th largest Wikipedia by number of articles. Aside from South Africans, this Wikipedia is also used and edited by people from The Netherlands and Belgium.[3]
