Adam Haluska (born November 16, 1983 in Carroll, Iowa) is an American basketball player, formerly a shooting guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He has scored 1,847 career points. He was named to the first 2007 All-Big Ten Conference Team just weeks after being named the 2007 Academic All-American of the Year. Adam started his career at Iowa State University before transferring to the University of Iowa after his freshman year. Haluska was named to the Big XII's All-Freshman team in his lone year in the conference. Due the intense rivalry amongst Cyclones and Hawkeyes, the transfer was deemed quite controversial amongst sports fans at the time. Furthering the controversy, Haluska publicly denied the rumor that he was considering a transfer just one week before officially transferring to Iowa City.[1]

Haluska's younger brother, Sean Haluska, joined the squad at Iowa State University for the '07-08 and '08-09 seasons.

Haluska was selected by the New Orleans Hornets in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft. On February 21, 2008, Haluska was traded to the Houston Rockets in a three-team deal, that also sent Bobby Jackson and a draft pick to Houston, for Bonzi Wells and Mike James.[2] The Houston Rockets announced on February 26, 2008 that Haluska was released as they signed Bobby Jones to a 10-day contract.

Haluska currently plays for the Iowa Energy in Des Moines, Iowa.[3]
