The A1 Team Ireland is the Irish team of A1 Grand Prix, an international racing series. Their franchise covers the island of Ireland and not just the state.

[edit] History
The team is owned by Status Grand Prix Ltd and the team owner is Mark Kershaw[1]. Eden Rock Sports plan out the team activity but Mark Gallagher, drivers manager and senior manager in the former Formula One team Jordan Grand Prix, is the managing director and team principal of the A1 Team Ireland[2]. Therefore, the team is self managed and doesn't collaborate with a racing team like most of A1 teams.
The inaugural team's 2005-06 car was presented to the public on 15 September, 2005[3]. The series organisers aware the team for the best presented team[1]. They finished eight overall, on 68 points, competing in all races and scoring points in all but one.
For the 2007-08 season, the team secured LM Developments as the title sponsor and is now known as Belmayne A1 Team Ireland[4].
[edit] Drivers
The main driver for the Irish team for the 2007-08 season is Adam Carroll, with Niall Quinn as Team Ireland's test and reserve driver[4].
