Welcome to Wikipedia. It would be appreciated if you would not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates. Attention:

This IP address, 66.82.9.54, is registered to Hughes Network Systems, and may be shared by multiple users. If the organization uses proxy servers or firewalls, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another and a block may be shared by many. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism; if so, please see here.

If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user. Alternatively, you can list the IP at Wikipedia:WikiProject on XFFs.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation.
IT staff who want to monitor vandalism from this IP address can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

Some ISPs use transparent proxies which cause problems logging in. If you find that you are automatically logged out just after you have logged in, and removing all your Wikipedia cookies does not fix the issue, try using the secure server (much slower) to bypass the proxy. This happens most often with some satellite ISPs (particularly HughesNet/DirecWay/DirecPC).

[edit] May 2005

Stop spamming. You will be blocked. CryptoDerk 14:11, May 11, 2005 (UTC)

I guess I'm confused....Are the links I'm adding not relevant to the topic? Isn't that what Wikipedia is for?

No. Wikipedia is not a link repository. The links you are posting have no content and seem to only want to sell people stuff on ebay. CryptoDerk 14:19, May 11, 2005 (UTC)

The front page has that ad, but there's also news and a bio comparable to the one here at Wikipedia, pictures, etc....Why are the other sites linked there? They have a lot less content than the one I was adding...

Regarding news and bio, I just checked the Jennifer Lopez one... the biography is miniscule compared to what's on Wikipedia. In cases where there is content, we want to make sure it's not redundant, bigger, different, and adds something to the value of the article. I'm not making a judgment call on one link versus another, I just saw someone mass inserting links to one site and I stopped it. If you feel there are other links there that don't offer good content, feel free to remove them. CryptoDerk 14:26, May 11, 2005 (UTC)

I wasn't trying to spam or anything like that...I thought the news section was really interesting part of the sites I was adding. Wikipedia's cool, but by it's very nature it starts getting stale the day the page is posted. The news pages from that site for the celebs I was checking have the daily news for that celeb. I figured the bios, pics, etc. were bonus. I don't have own the site: I just thought adding daily celeb news was a good thing...Should I have added the news pages instead of the front pages?

I'm obviously new to this, so I'm not trying to be belligerent - just trying to do the right thing....

OK, the news is relatively interesting, however it'd be ideal if relevant news was added to the article itself. Major news about movie deals, new albums, high profile breakups, etc. can be added to the article directly. In other cases, make a judgment about whether or not it will add value to the article. In general though, a user adding links to one site over and over is frowned upon and they may be removed because it's seen as an act of promotion/advertising. CryptoDerk 14:42, May 11, 2005 (UTC)
Oh, and if you were to add a link, since you think the news page is the interesting page, I would link that. CryptoDerk 14:42, May 11, 2005 (UTC)

Gotcha...definitely understandable...Thanks for the help :)

[edit] vandalism on Marc Lepine page

Please stop vandalizing the Marc Lepine page.

For example, you edited the page to include the following:

For some opponents of the feminist war on men, December 6 is now celebrated as International Marc Lepine Day in English speaking countries around the globe. December 6 is regarded as the date of the first counter attack against the century long feminist war on men.

Canadian feminists mark the day of Lepine's counter attack with a National Day of Remembrance which spreads misandry and further promotes their hate war on men.

[edit] March 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Charlotte Sun Herald do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bwordpress\.com' (link(s): http://www.charlottesunnewspaper.wordpress.com/) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 20:37, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
