Hello, I must be going...

This is not an attention-seeking bit of wikidrama. There weren't any straws breaking the backs of any camels either. This is just to inform any editors that I work with that I will be away for an indefinite period of time.

For the last month or so, I haven't been able to contribute much here; Real Life has kept me extremely busy. But now that things are returning to normal (whatever that is), I don't really feel like coming back to Wikipedia.

Even though I've thought long and hard about this, the motivation just isn't there anymore and I don't know why. Maybe there's just nothing that I feel like writing about, maybe I've become disillusioned by the whole thing, maybe I've seen too much childish drama and not enough professionalism here, or seen too much idiotic bias and POV-pushing, or maybe I simply have different priorities in my life these days. No idea. But whatever the reason, it has stopped being fun here – and when it has stopped being fun, then why be here?

Perhaps I just need an extended break and will come back later. Perhaps I'll work on some other project. Perhaps I'll keep lurking, both here and at Wikipedia Review (which does present some very valid issues if you can sort through the occasional ranting, making it far more like Wikipedia itself than anyone would like to admit). Or perhaps I'll just leave it all behind and go do something else. I don't know yet.

To those who have come to me with problems in the past, I hope I was able to be of some assistance.

To those whom I may have wronged, I hope we have sorted out any differences and can part amicably.

And to all those with whom I have collaborated, it was a pleasure to work with you, and I wish you all the best.

PLEASE DONT GO

I'm new here...2 weeks old. Found your edit for "Maps of Europe" and looked you up. If, and when, you return please drop me a note. You may be interested in the genisis of an idea I have...or at least provide some guidance as to how to proceed. Thank You. --Buster7 (talk) 12:10, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Take as long as you need

Take as long as you need to recharge and if/when you come back, do it on your terms. Good luck. —MJCdetroit (yak) 20:29, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
