  • November 9, 1988: Randy Milligan was traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Baltimore Orioles for Pete Blohm (minors). [1]
  • March 25, 1989: Felix Fermin was sent by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Cleveland Indians to complete an earlier deal made on November 28, 1988. The Pittsburgh Pirates sent a player to be named later and Denny Gonzalez to the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later. The Cleveland Indians sent Jay Bell (March 25, 1989) to the Pittsburgh Pirates to complete the trade. The Pittsburgh Pirates sent Felix Fermin (March 25, 1989) to the Cleveland Indians to complete the trade. [2]
